County have been drawn to play fellow League Two side Bury in the Area Quarter-Finals of the Johnstone’s Paints Trophy if we can overcome our opponents in round two. County are still unsure of their second round opponents as the Football League are still to make a decision on who should face the Hatters out of Accrington Stanley or Tranmere Rovers.

Stanley beat Tranmere 5-3 on penalties in the first round although their future in the competition hangs in the balance as they fielded a banned player in the victory.

Our second round match should have taken place last week although this was postponed whilst the Football League makes a ruling on whether or not John Coleman’s side had broken the competition rules in the win at Prenton Park by fielding Ray Putterill who was serving a suspension issued by Liverpool County FA.

Quarter-Final ties are to be played during the week commencing 8th November 2010 which means that our re-arranged second round match will have to be played prior to that date.
