County duo overlooked for awards Thursday, 7th Oct 2010 16:20 County manager Paul Simpson has missed out on picking up the ‘Manager of the Month’ award for September, as the accolade has gone to Port Vale’s Mickey Adams. Simpson was nominated after guiding the Hatters to two wins and three draws in September. Vale won all five of their matches in September as they beat Bradford, Aldershot, Macclesfield, Accrington and Shrewsbury which has cemented their place at the top of the League Two table. County manager Paul Simpson was nominated as the Hatters remained unbeaten in the month of September, after beating Oxford United and Macclesfield Town away and drawing with Aldershot, Accrington Stanley and Bradford City at home. Centre forward George Donnelly was also nominated for the player of the month award but the Football League opted to give the award to Bury's Ryan Lowe after he scored four goals.
