As I said in a recent post as a shareholder for over 50 years I have never felt as detached from the club as I do now. This could not happen without the acceptance of the Ogdens even if its being driven by SG. Not even an attempt to explain why this change has been made. It really is their club now…the rest of us, including the trust, are just customers. |

Joy to see the day when Franny Hall would mount rushmore. Was rushmore a bus driver? |

The total options claptrap is mind numbing. The manager needs to establish some track record before aiming to leave his mark as a tactical guru. I havent felt as disengaged as a shareholder in all my 50 years of shareholding. The value (and I dont mean monetary) of being a shareholder was watered down more than southern beer in order to effect the ownership change in a way that saved face for the current co chair and the rest of the former board. We needed a clean break from the previous regieme and I hope that the current arrangements are temporary and just a short step from installing a board free of past influence. Lets get some folks who know football on the board to help the ogdens run a steady ship with promise of growth both on and off the field. |

Not only statistically...a non league squad playing in the third tier. A youth team coach trying to compete with youth team players and some old vets. Painful to watch, cruel to the kids playingOnly one survived...Alan Taylor....though he already had some non league first team experience at Morecambe. 76-77 was a very close second...and Dalians comments on Phil Ashworth are too kind...he was far worse than that. The difference between the two teams was that in 76-7 you occasionally felt you were in the game. 73-4 we were beaten before we left the changing room. Of course I dont go back as far as 1931-32. That must have been out of its depths by a long way too |

Turn the screw did and a couple of other posters indirectly. I understand the official position…we recorded our lowest ever attendance officially. I look forward to the day when someone breaks the club appearance record, or the club goalscoring record in a game against oxford uniteds youth team. Official nonsense. |

Correct…its an unofficial Rochdale fan site. Any game where one of the participants is limited to which of their players they are allowed to play ( and I dont mean things like being cup tied or suspended) is not a competitive first team game in my way of thinking. And this has nothing to do with Hendos records…club legend who has achieved his standing in the clubs record books through playing in proper competitions. More to the point I wonder why we are using his limited playing time in these sorts of games. Yes his experienced head will be a big help for the youngsters…but should we be managing his game time to the benefit of the first team games (national league and trophy games)? |

It doesnt exist according to the fixture list on this site. Under any reasonable interpretation this is a reserve game. Are PL and Champ clubs entering teams in both this comp and the comp v league 1 and 2 teams? |

What I cannot fathom is how we had such an impressive defensive record over the first 6 games…the envy of the league…two goals conceded. Not sure when was the last time we started a season so succesfully from a defensive perspective. Where we playing the slow tippy tappy stuff at the back and it took other teams 7 games to work us out. Or have we significantly changed our style adopting what we might call McNultyball around this time, or have the personnel changed due to injuries with the blokes coming in not able to carry out McNultyball as effectively ( or maybe a combination of these) Afraid I cant be ars** to go back through highlights of every game but anyone know how many goals have been conceded from turnovers in our own defensive third of the field? |

A good watch. One small glitch, Our League Cup final appearance was not in the inaugural year of the competition. We lost to Scunthorpe in the first year of the competition. |

We were lauding the defence when we went four games without conceding and only 2 goals against in the first 7 games. Is it the players who arent up to it? For some reason we are back to conceding awful goals…something we appeared to have eradicated in the first month of the season. |

Lets hope we dont hear any moaning about fixture congestion, player burn out and the like later on in the season. And the possibility of a player getting a long term or season ending injury in one of these games doesnt bear thinking of. This competition is madness. |

And the Bills beat the Fins...sonome things never change. Not good seeing TT being concussed again though...there must be concern about his future. |

Almost 14 years to the day since our last smash and grab raid in Hampshire. That magnificent win at Southampton. Great result and sounds like a great performance. 13th What a treat to have both the towns professional sports teams firing on all cylinders at the same time. Long may it continue. |

They survived another potential banana skin on their route to Wembley yesterday. Who next for the former cup winners? Silsden, City of Liverpool? |
