I see Saito and the Gangnam lad tip-toeing up to the main man like the two Japanese fellas in the Crocodile Dundee movie. I think the main man might be Cookie, face like that he ain't worried about consequences to his pretty boy looks, with his: get in there, 'kin 'ave it style trading of blows!

That said, keep Chair close. Feisty little geezer, looking for tools to finish the job quickly.

Paul Smyth's long throw...
at 04:12 11 Feb 2025

There's something primaeval about long throws and an affront to the notion of it being part of the beautiful game. Personally, I can't stand them.

When the former javalin thrower of Stoke used to launch his V1 rockets, you felt the neanderthals from the Potteries grunting with anticipation and delight at the prospect of the mayhem that was about to unfurl. I don't want to be like Stoke!

That said, I wasn't moaning when Simon Stainrod launched one at Wembley on 22nd May 1982. The thing is, in the intervening 43 years, I'm not sure if I've seen us profit from the same tactic. Gues teams wised up to our shenanigans.

This. Me, I just never rated him.

I can't remember which game it was last season, but we were desperately hanging on to a lead, and he did the hard bit of getting the ball down to the corner to work the clock down. Then, for some inexplicable reason, he turned the defender and just walloped it for what must have been a goal attempt, from the corner/byline, as there was no team mate in the box. The ball just sailed away from the goal to the other side of the pitch and back to the opposition.

What was going on in that head of his, I can't say, but aside of that pace, I am sure savvy defenders don't worry too much about playing against him. Anyway, good luck to him and if we did get ÂŁ2.5m for him, then I'm happy with that.

Incursion of Government into our lives

Too many egos and idiots presiding over us; I choose to ignore as much as I can. Of what I know, I'm filled with anger as much as I am horror.

I'd turn time back to 1975 and live it all again in a heartbeat. However, I wouldn't be remotely interested in turning the body clock back 50 years to be an eight year old in 2025...albeit, I'd be interested in both a youthful left ankle and right knee.

Yeah, but but it was only in the third tier against a poor relegation threatened side! Let's see what he does against Brum, Wycombe, or Hollywood before we're taking up extensions.

FA Cup 4th Round - Offside!!
at 12:49 8 Feb 2025

What boils my phish about VAR is that it results in goals chalked off because a player is offside by a millimetre and yet, nothing happens when a player steals yards to take a free kick or a throw on.

I was touch and go for the 2006 CM, and by the time I decided to go, there was only one decent hotel near the start/finish line. However, I had to book the 'romantic weekend' deal.

Consequently, every night I got back to my love nest, a bottle of champagne, rose petals, and origami kissing swans greeted my return. Finished the race and had five bottles of shampoo to knock back! Thankfully, got friends in to help.

Cost me a foookin' packet!!!

Out of contract (again)

Colbeck - age, injury, and discipline. Would need a younger, but older head to replace.

Cook - always rated him. He's doing for us what Dunne, Nelson, Hill, and a history of buying wizened old pros at the end of their careers have done for us. So, yes.

Right Said Frey - yes.

Edwards - no chance, he'll be returning to Soton.

Andersen - no.

Dunne - I think will go.

Saito/Fox - not seen enough.
