Grimes for Wales

Giggs could have played for England if he had wanted to. He would have strolled into their team.

Grimes for Wales

Any player playing for a Welsh club would only really be able to get into the Welsh squad on talent. Very, very few have played for England only a couple whilst we were in the Prem.
The very best Welsh players were at Englush clubs and how many of them would have chosen to play for England? I don't imagine Bale would have accepted anyone other than Wales.

Also, Wales would offer most of them first team international games a long time before they would have made it in the English squad. We were picking Bale long before England would have had him

That depends on where are player is in their life. A nice place down the Gower with sea views is a great place to bring up the kids.
It's not so great for single guys looking to be out in the big cities on the weekend.

Highly expensive deals for players who barely play e.g. Pedersen.
Recruiting multimillion pound players that are nowhere near up to the required standard. E.g Yates.
The last 2 years have seen us getting far worse.

When they took over we were in League two. By the time we reached the Championship they had 7 years experience.
They were still far from perfect but they were much more experienced than Coleman.
Coleman is trying to learn on the job in one of the most competitive Leagues in the World.
We deserve professionals and the owners deserve professionals, not someone learning on the job

Luke on recruitment strategy
at 07:52 8 Feb 2025

He has really thrown everyone under the bus there.
At one point he says about leaders taking responsibility and I've worked with good managers who, whenever something goes wrong they take the blame and not the team. Then here he is, at his first opportunity telling the world that the club is a mess and it was other people's fault.
His people management skills are awful.

Is this guy really off the menu
at 06:20 8 Feb 2025

The club already has a Data Science department, although it is generally aimed at feeding information into the training sessions. The use of a tool like Football Radar has barely unique to Notts County, there are numerous tools on the market and a number of Consultancies that offer a similar service.
The club used to use an American Consultancy whose name I forget. It didn't last long as the information he provided was very limited.
The problem with most of these tools is the limited amount of data available. Systems like Hawkeye that track player movements are very expensive so only used at the very highest level such as the Euros. Below that there are tools to take positional data from camera footage, which is then limited to players in view.
Whatever data provided by Football Radar is, I would assume that it is mostly made from publicly sourced data. That us something that was offered to the club previously and was laughed at.

I would guess the assumption may have been based on the photos online of Montague and Williams with their arms around each other holding the Play off winners trophy.
It was coming up as one of the top results when you search on his name. It's not coming up today

I think we will tick over with 5 points, enough to keep us above the bottom 3.
If we get 0 then we are deep in trouble.

If it is Montague then he should seriously reconsider his decision as he is not overly wanted here.
If, as was stated, he us working a notice period then he could join us after an 8 or 9 game lisimg streak. His buddy Williams in serious need of leaving and taking him with him.
The best thing that he can do is stay where he is.

I don't think that it will be well received if it is Montague by those who know the connection.
If the results continue as they are going then he may find himself having to make a very awkward decision very early in to his tenure

Swansea City : Luke Williams will stay at Swansea City, no plans to sack him

If it is the Notts guy, then there would be a conflict of interest between the two. It's very difficult to be objective when assessing a friend who got you the jobs performance.

It sounds like the club should have pulled the plug once they saw his attitude. It might have taught the spoilt, overpaid brat a lesson.

If the incoming Director of Football is his ex-colleague from Notts County, as has been rumoured. Then I think his position is safe for quite some time

Matt Grimes : An in-depth look into the reasons why ?

If that is true, then it will probably be Richard Montague. He was there with Lukey, would explain the reluctance to remove Luke. It would make it less likely that Luke is going anywhere for the foreseeable.

Coleman - The busy fool
at 12:30 5 Feb 2025

It is pretty clear from the performances on the pitch that the players are going backwards.
Any flair and skill that Ronald had has been drilled out of him. From the article about Grimes it seems that the players are reporting back that training is terrible.
Coleman needs to get things together and sack Williams.
