I am going to Colmar, proper French/Alsace food and some nice wines to boot. |

Idon’t see anything “pressured”about Mccarthy’s mistakes. I once played in goal for the cubs and we got beat 9-0. But I would never have taken completely the wrong angle when coming out to Salah, not rolled the ball to Fernandez when clearly, the best he could do was pass it back again. Whatever happened to throwing the ball out? Much more accurate than kicking, and a site less risky than tippy tippy all fall down. |
| Forum Reply | Is The Journey Better Than The Prize at 10:02 15 Nov 2024
The problem with taking a yo-yo approach comes if you get relegated, then don’t come straight back up. All your best players will be up and away, and the whole club becomes weaker, and I don’t put much faith in Ankerson and co to spot the emerging talent that we would need to get back.1 decadent player in 6 or 7 acquisitions isn’t going to cut it, apart from trading. The Sunderland experience has been dire from a football perspective, continually changing owners, never quite good enough. They made the playoffs a couple of seasons ago, but their football was agricultural, with Clarke being the only half decent quality player, and he isn’t exactly shining in the PL now. That is what the future holds for us under the current setup. |
| Forum Reply | Sources Say Southampton Have Made Decision About Russell Martin at 08:52 14 Nov 2024
This is NOT a decision. It is just deferring making one, unless there is a timetable and results targets. In any event, results will be meaningless, as there is very little prospect of things improving. There are no signs of any change from our approach, which has been shown to be woefully inadequate. When you are in a fight, strategy is out of the window, but Ankerson is sticking by the long term plan, that somehow, keeping on losing will make us successful. Thanks matey. |

I made the decision last season, as I didn’t want to watch us playing tippy tippy against second rate teams. I didn’t renew again this season, because our football is a joke and unprofessional. The majority of pundits and tens of thousands of (previously) enthusiastic fans are not wrong. The only way is to walk away until a viable approach is implemented. |

Our strikers just aren’t up to the job. I just spent ages getting all this aligned, then when I posted, it took out all the formatting. Doh! [Post edited 5 Nov 8:54]

In terms of clear chances, Everton could have easily won that game. |

I’d bet on the first option, but not on the second. |
| Forum Reply | Who is our defensive coach? at 16:21 3 Nov 2024
Any team coming up against us knows that they are going to get plenty of chances so long as they can win free kicks and press the defenders. When you look at the player positions when playing out, almost every option. Apart from passing to the goalie looks like a risky one. I just don’t believe that the players are completely unaware, but what they are doing is the lazy option and the passer gets the blame because the others do not work hard enough to get into positions to receive (other than go deeper and deeper). |

A good number need a Nursing Home, which is a different cost model to a Care Home. |

Arguably, no vote means no say. I knew a bloke that had a knack for finding something wrong, then getting on his high horse about something needing to be done. Until his wife would ask him what was HE going to do about it. No answer, and she told him to stick his indignation back up where it came from. |

Our employers will charge more for the goods and services they supply. For a big proportion, that is 1% to 1.5% increase in wage costs (more if mostly low paid workers like retail). Business growth will have to come from small to medium sized companies, large companies have steadily declined over the past decades. Small companies being hit with higher costs, more generous worker rights and knowing that they will get hit with massive CGT iof they are successful and get bought out by bigger fish, they are not likely to take big risks and maximise growth. It will be Corporation Tax at the next budget. This government have played entirely to the voting electorate in the short term. When ever did government intervention in the capital investment cycle prove to be a success? This lot just don’t have a clue any more than the lazy, corrupt and self serving mob who were in before. |

Everton have scored 150% goals and conceded 85% compared to us. Unless they have one of their “moments”, I don’t anticipate celebrating at 5 o’clock. |
