Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 13:34 - Jun 17 with 5221 views | jav14 | Won't this be because of his impending court case? May be a cover to get him to leave rather than just sack him. At least we'd get some money for him.
Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 13:36 - Jun 17 with 5199 views | ColDale | Whilst the court case is hanging over him, I very much doubt another club would touch him. Why take a risk on someone who might not be available for the first eight games of next season?
Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 13:37 - Jun 17 with 5192 views | SteTsGoldenBoot | Be interesting to see if anyone will touch him with the threat of a 10 game ban. I cant see us getting much more than a nominal fee. A bit of a blow and a shock this one.

It could be a way to protect his reputation i guess, leave voluntarily or be pushed, but if it is just that he isn't buying in to what Hill wants, then he can go.

Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 13:52 - Jun 17 with 5071 views | DaleFan7 | Not surprised or particularly bothered by this, he's more trouble than he's worth and I'm sure Hill could find a suitable replacement.
Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 13:53 - Jun 17 with 5059 views | macro | I have my doubts if another club will come in for him because of the ongoing court case but you never know. He's a class act so it's disappointing from that respect I assume reading the statement that there is a specific reason for the request
Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 13:55 - Jun 17 with 5042 views | lurker | Echo the above that if he doesn't want to be here then no option, but to be fair to the lad he could just be reasoning that he doesn't want to play another season in L2. Let's face it, he is good enough to play at a higher level and he did state when he joined us that he wanted to get back up there. If we can get our money back for him then he will leave with no resentment from me given his goals last season basically saving our arse! | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 14:10 - Jun 17 with 4936 views | SaxonDale | I don't get that at all. Whether he likes it or not at the moment he is a league 2 standard player because of his disciplinary problems and the baggage that comes with him. Hill however was working well to eradicate that side to his game. There could be other reasons for him requesting a move but if its to try and aid his career I think he's making a mistake.

Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 14:13 - Jun 17 with 4921 views | D_Dale | Looks like he's been tapped by another manager, probably at L1 level, and maybe nearer his native city .... A 23-year old (come 1 July - many happy returns, Bobby) who scored 18 goals last season (including 2 for Scunthorpe) is an attractive target. True, there's a risk he'll start with a lengthy ban, but another club might reason he'll be acquitted and that meanwhile the court case would make Dale more likely to settle for a smaller fee. Goalscorers are always in short supply. Are Grimes and Gornell fixed up yet? Second thoughts there?

I have always found it quite hard to adhere myself to him, he just doesn't seem a Hill type player. If he merely thinks he's better than he is a deserves a higher league club, then best of luck to him, he could have been badly advised.

When he'd less of a scoring record, Scunny reputedly paid £260k for him. But 'for a quick sale' might Dale ask two-thirds of that - with a sell-on clause?
Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 14:48 - Jun 17 with 4667 views | lurker | Again just surmising here but he could feel that the club didn't lick his arse enough in the lead up to his racism case...... he is a Liverpool lad after all!

On Dale Player Hilly hinted at him being 'tapped up'. Also touched on the statement being propaganda, so I feel its a case that the club want rid, somebody wants him, but unless they pay our asking price he wont be going any where. Hilly seemed quite non-plussed by it and in a similar way to his thoughts on JK said, Dale will be successful but the wrong move could see the players career suffer. A few grand in the pot and another high earner gone could give us a few good options. Hilly did also confirm that Craig Dawson did put in 3 transfer requests, but remained totally professional in training and on match days.

Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 14:54 - Jun 17 with 4623 views | StAnnesDale | Need to get a decent fee here. Given he was 1 booking away from another suspension for last 2 months of the season he had to curb his play slightly. Prior to that he was different class. without him Hill would have inherited a side in the bottom 2 or 3 not just below mid-table. Hard but not impossible to replace. If he had left next Summer he could have gone for nothing so unless we were planning to extend his contract we have to sell now or January or take a loss. Impending court case will not help us but if a club is signing him on a 3 year contract it is probably not so important as for a 1 year contract. Would doubt he has fallen out with Hill, or is just upset with club for getting rid of Coleman so I think his agent has probably had an offer from a L1 club. Despite his spell at Scunthorpe I think he can comfortably play at a higher level than L2.

Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 14:59 - Jun 17 with 4578 views | Swissdale | Very disappointed with this, we will be losing one of our better players. Stupid decision in my opinion, god only knows what makes him think that being part of a John Coleman Rochdale team is better for his career than being part of Keith Hill’s. Whilst I admire his talent of a player, his attitude has often come into question (needless red cards, questionable effort in some games). No doubt his ‘I’m big time’ attitude is the main reason behind this request. We ALWAYS say this but we NEED to make sure we get a decent transfer fee for this player. He’s only 22 and has got undoubted ability. Even if it means he has to sit in the reserves for a few months then so be it. I will be extremely disappointed if we let such a good player go for absolutely nothing.

Christ almighty, I've just gone cold all over at the thought of losing Bobby Grant and replacing him with Joe Thompson. I know that Hill is a big fan of Marc Richards. I once asked him (while we were both drunk in fairness) who, if the chairman gave him a big sum of money to spend, he would want to sign and he immediately said Marc Richards. Could he be lured over from Chesterfield?

Bobby Grant hands in transfer request! on 15:27 - Jun 17 with 4412 views | Daley_Lama | Probably wants to play for a manager who will tolerate his stroppy attitude and wreckless tackles rather than one who will improve him as a player and as a man. Got to be off to Rotherham, surely? Taraah Bobby, good luck etc.

You could be right! From a recent news item: Manager Steve Evans has a number of potential signings in mind and there have been talks with player representatives and prospective signings who have been shown the New York Stadium. But assistant manager Paul Raynor added a new dimension to the club’s search when he outlined where they will be looking in addition to more established players. “We want young, hungry players,” said Raynor. “It will be part of the club looking to the future.”
