I’m not asking about the value of Sainsbury’s shares or the cost of a pound of cheese. Chants at a club say a lot about its fan base. And that makes it relevant on a Swansea City forum. I’m hoping that I misheard it. Because childish stuff has been chanted for generations it doesn’t make it right or acceptable. Not in this crazy current world where you can’t say boo to a goose without it seeking legal advice. And the goose lets legal aid too. 😂

You didn't mishear it, that chant asa been around for years it's not gonna stop, although you could always start a petition to get it stopped, or put ear plugs in, you can probably get them in Sainsbury's next time you're there pricing the cheese up.

What about anti Welsh chants? .I am Welsh and the chants are disgusting. So disgusting discussing it on here was deemed harmful for the charitable purposes of the website.

The general forum view is I should not complain. That means a from my point of view the forum believes "anything goes".

It is noticeable and strange that anti English chants are considered appalling on this forum but anti Welsh one acceptable despite being much more obscene.

Hope he's dead is childish nonsense, that being a staple of younger football fans. Most of us have joined in with chants that we would go nowhere near now.

I don't like the anti English chants either. But then, I don't like some of the songs sung about us. They're not just about us tho, they are used by a lot of teams about a lot of other teams too. Such is football.

Unsavoury chanting as you call it can get you arrested. This is not 1964. I’m not saying that shouting “ hope he’s dead “ will get you arrested but there are lines that you can’t cross any longer.

It’s unacceptable. In my view. Not illegal but certainly it’s crass. But are you saying that they are just thick youngsters messing around which makes it ok? It’s about standards I suppose. Meanwhile you carry on shouting “hope he’s dead” if you feel it’s appropriate.

It's not illegal so the police won't do anything, the stewards aren't doing anything but if you walked across and told them to stop you'd be told in no uncertain terms to go away. A failure to do so may well end up with the stewards and police involved.

We can only hope these kids grow up sooner rather than later but after a few too many beers and attending an emotive sports game, a lot of people have been stupid and a lot still will.
