Huge Win 21:45 - Nov 27 with 3682 viewsBrianMcCarthy

We're 23rd and two points off safety.

Would have been 24th and six points off had we lost.

I know it's only November but that's a big result.

I thought Clive called it in his pre-match comments; We have not been far off, just needed a striker to score. I would not be surprised if that display and team chemistry started a turn for the better.

Delighted for Celar . That’s it . A huge win .

Loads to work on, and a very uncomfortable second half's watch, but three points and two actual goals from Celar is definitely something to celebrate.

Great result, huge win, drags Plymouth etc right back into it and bouncebackability from Celar, fair play, next few weeks for him will be really interesting.

We should note that Portsmouth, 2 points below us, have 2 games in hand.

With two tough games coming up that really was a huge win. Is Frey back for Oxford? Bit of a worry how Saito fades in a game. Fantastic for about an hour then pretty much baggage even though he's still trying.

Great defensive display - good shape at the back, nice commitment.

But poor going forward despite two fantastic Celar strikes - I particularly liked the second one.

Midfield also poor - very little commitment showed by the low numbers of fouls we committed.

Fantastic goalkeeping too kept us in it.

Apart from Nardi and Celar, the next best thing was / is just how pss poor Cardiff were - we might actually have found one team worse than us. They were even shite at set pieces, which was the only reason they beat us at LR last season.

Take the win all day long - really, really needed that, but could do with a better forward performance on Saturday, which is going to be tough.

Can we go out yet?

Agreed with that. Another pro being that we've contrived to lose or draw to all the other teams as bad as us this season so far

As they said on the Comms, better to have the points.

Plenty of merriment, whooping and fist punching in the rbee household tonight. Two exquisite finishes from Celar, Nardi on top form. Shout out to Ashby as well who seemed to point to Celar telling him where to go before playing that sublime ball over the top.

Great team effort though, almost the perfect away performance in the first half, second half Cardiff were a little stronger but we caught them on the break as they pushed forward. Wonderful celebrations with the travelling R's at the end.

We won't get carried away with one win but it's good to be away again on Saturday where hopefully we shall see a similar performance. As we know there are plenty of weak teams in this division and we need to take these opportunities like tonight to put points on the board.

But happily they're notching up less than a point per game.

Poll: QPR to finish 7th or Brentford to drop out of the top 6?

I agree. In the freezing light of day, Celar's superb goals and Nardi's qualities got us over the line, though we defended well when we had to. A team with even a modicum more finesse than Cardiff would have won comfortably with their possession and stats, but you can only beat who's in front of you.

I still don't much fancy us at Watford but will be salivating if the team shove my words down my throat.

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?

Saito is like an Ewok from Star Wars he is in our team to bring down the evil empire that is the Championship.

I didn't see that to be honest. With only a couple of minutes to go, he was taking the piss out of two Cardiff players down by their corner flag - must have wasted a full minute at least and it was still only 1-0 at the time

Great win. But ultimately we just need the below par new signings to click. If Marti can get a tune out of Madsen and Celar then the rest will follow. Field, Varane, Smyth etc., they will do the rest.

I don't want to come across as Job's comforter but aren't we getting a bit carried away.
Cardiff were drek but, by virtually every measure, except the most important one ( Goals for and against), they were the better side. Possession, shots, on target, pass completion, etc. Plenty of us had Nardi as MOM!
If we are that far below parity, then we'll lose a lot more than we win. Watford & Norwich are likely to be much stiffer tests.

I'm not too bothered about the stats. The win is what counts. Not saying we have turned the corner yet but if we can do it at Cardiff we can do it at Watford.

That was a good moment but generally I think he looks pretty knackered after and hour or so. We were very vulnerable down the left hand side for most of the second half. I'm a big fan of Saito, we just need some more quality off the bench to give him a rest in some games.

We've played better in other games such as Sunderland at home but not come away with a win because we haven't been able to score.

Last nights game was similar to our home game with Plymouth, where we had lots of shots and the Plymouth keeper was MOTM which meant we didn't win. Last night, particularly 2nd half was similar for Cardiff - they had lots of shots but couldn't beat Nardi.

Sorry, but bar the goals we were pretty poor. Unfortunately, the stats don't lie, and I have a horrible feeling we will be found out on Saturday.

We still seem to be wide open and far to easy to play through.
We still need a nasty bustard in midfield, oh hang on, taxi for Hayden? Nah, our right back we just brought in is gash......
