There, but for the grace of Bob, goes Bob. Sir, my concern is not whether Bob is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on Bob's side, for Bob is always right. Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in Bob; trust also in me.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

There's no home crowd and those who are there are almost silent. We need to make the most of this

Jimmy Dunne not learning from Saturday and trying to be too cute albeit unlucky to give away a FK. If not sure just boot the ball down the pitch man

I like when Saito operates in the middle, good interplay with Smyth, too bad Field automatically passes it backwards to deaden any threat

Thanks, E17.

Madsen Watch: 0 tackles and 0 interceptions. Varane and Field have 5 between them. They also have higher pass completion %s.

I would be incentivising our squad with tackle bonuses. We need to incentivise the right behaviours.

I find it interesting when people say player A did this, player B did that...the data is all trackable now. It's also useful to compare/contrast with the opposition to reflect on where we're missing. Esp useful when looking at heatmaps to see where players are operating most.

It's always noisiest at the shallow end

If only we still had BOS (or Dembele was fit). So many chances to break and we stop then go backwards. Infuriating.

Good break from Varane all alone results in a corner. Well played

Go on Varane. Last time he went on a maurading run like that, he earned himself an early bath.

Smyth LEFT-FOOTED strike, good save from Alnwick. I was expecting the shot to go miles over the bar

Smyth is having a stinker of a match here.

Madsen’s corners keep hitting the first man.

Cardiff are coming into this. I think I’d bring on Morgan too.

In mitigation we're obviously holding on to a 1-0 lead to death but I still think it's the first time I've ever seen a corner with only four attacking players in the box

I don’t think it’s infallible though, is it? If digitally tracked how has every piece of action been defined? There will be errors and grey areas. It’s inevitable, and given the volume of the data points is quite low, any errors at all can change how you interpret the data.

If it’s a human, it’s very subjective.

I agree it is useful broadly accurate. But it is there to inform analysis not dictate it.
