What does microwave flavoured rice taste like ? Is it a metallic grained item with a metal taste that makes you spin round for two minutes ?

OS

Swansea City will host a food bank collection - in conjunction with the Swansea City AFC Foundation, Westacres and The Wave - at our upcoming home fixture against Middlesbrough on March 11.

All donations will be taken to Swansea Foodbank and will provide emergency food and support for local people in crisis.

Supporters will be able donate food between 12.30pm and the 3pm kick-off at the designated drop-off point, which will be located out outside the Westacres South Stand at the Stadium (near the club shop and ticket office).

Swansea Foodbank relies on the goodwill and support of the community in order to help local people during these challenging times.

A full list of desirable items, which has been provided by the foodbank, is listed below:

Tinned fish
Tinned meat
Soup
Baked beans
Biscuits
Rice pudding
Custard
Tinned fruit
Long life fruit juice or squash
Instant coffee
Tea bags
Tinned vegetables
Tinned tomatoes
Microwave flavoured rice
UHT or powdered milk
Cereal
Please note that items must be unopened and in date.

Swansea City chief executive Julian Winter, said: “The cost of living of crisis has gripped the UK and we are in a situation where many people within our community require help and support.

“This club always wants to help local supporters and those in need, especially during these tough economic times, and we are delighted to be able to team up with Westacres, the Swansea City AFC Foundation and The Wave for such an important campaign.

“We urge the community to give whatever they can to support those who need it most. Swansea Foodbank play such a critical role in our community that we will support them in every way possible.”

Debbie Sharpe, administrator for Swansea Foodbank, added: "We were completely overwhelmed by the wonderful support we received during the last collection.

“The donations we received before Christmas helped us feed 906 adults and 524 children just during December.

"Many individuals and families were able to have a better Christmas having that extra help with a few special treats thrown in. January has been an exceptionally busy month for all our foodbanks and all the generous donations we had before Christmas have gone.

We would appreciate any donation no matter how big or small, everything makes a difference to someone."

We would like to thank the Jack Army for their support of this appeal, which will aid so many of those in need.

Brilliant.
Should be done every home game.
NB - Disgusting that there is a need in this day and age

Good the club are doing it, but there are enough drop offs in shops for it to be a regular obligation if you can afford it.

In the same way as supermarket appeals, I find it insulting that a football club staffed by millionaires are asking fans to contribute. People will, because people are kind, but a small percentage of the player's wages for a couple of week would negate this

I don't disagree with your sentiments but like many others who donate without fuss or for recognition perhaps and I'd like to think it happens that many wealthy people donate without fanfare .my sister is a volunteer and she's often commented on the generosity of others but why in this day and age and in this country that it's now become acceptable for food banks to exist .

Just 1% of our players yearly wages would give in the region of £100,000.
A lot of meals could be bought with that.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Its up to every one of us, individually, I'm sure the players do their bit especially if you read the social media reports of Wilfred Zaha and the likes, didn't our own Angel Rangel do a sandwich run for homeless people in Swansea and we all know Mr Trunds does more than most, in fact, I'm sure they all contribute. I'll be contributing, no questions asked of others.
