No ‘red wave’ and poor performance from Trump-endorsed candidates in the mid-terms. Will the GOP ditch him in favour of the younger and popular conservative Ron De Santis?
What a pathetic buch of media brainwashed posters suffering with Trump Derangement Syndrom you all are. With comments like "poor performance from Trump-endorsed candidates" "Yesterday was a disaster for trump , people he backed did bigly badly" "‘Bigly badly’ - brilliant" "Trump endorsed candidates in swing races largely lost." it shows just how out of touch you are with US politics. The GOP, who hate Trump like you lot prevented some of his endorsed candidates from winning by promoting their own candidates against them, thus splitting the Republican vote. A Classic case is Palin in Alaska Dem Peltola had 47% of the vote, Rep Palin had nearly 27% of the vote and Nick Begich III was third with about 24%. See how it works? Dems 47% Reps 51%. As for Trump's "poor performance", "did bigly badly", since when is a 93% success rate for endorsed candidates a disaster. Not my numbers of course :- https://thenationalpulse.com/2022/11/10/dr-gina-the-uniparty-needs-you-to-believ
Of course Desantis did well in his own state, so he should with his performance during COVID and his handling of the latest Florida Hurricane disaster he deserved to. But let's be real, in potential 2024 presidential polling, DeSantis polls at just 10 percent compared to Trump’s 70+ percent.

DeSantis is now a clear bookies favourite whilst Trump's odd lengthen and Biden's shorten. Trump's attacks are in danger of causing a GOP civil war which could open the way to another democratic presidential win. Unlike the UK, there is growth in the US economy (not high but high by current G7 levels) and some (though not all) of Biden's recovery policies may bear fruit.
The US could certainly use a moderate-as mentioned Mark Kelly a centre-leaning democrat who has just been re-elected to the senate in AZ (beating a heavily Trump endorsed candidate) could be that guy. He is, however, very pro gun control (read up why) which could cause problems via the NRA and the other nutters.
In contrast De Santis is very conservative and by belief, not opportunism.
To even pretend mid-terms are some triumph for Trump and the MAGA wing of the GOP is risible. The MSM attacking Trump is largely the right-leaning media. Not the NYT or Boston Globe, but sources like the NY post. I am afraid it is you who are out of touch with real politics. Keep drinking the Kool Aid in your MAGA hat......
Trump just spouts hate and bile he's caused unrest and backed even white supremacist in the past
Just waiting for him to say this election is rigged now
His hate and bile now seem to be directed at DeSantis. This may indicate that Trump is a worried man. I wonder if he will go ahead with his big announcement' on the 15th November.

My apology, I didn't understand that Mass media was now restricted to the NYT, the Boston Globe & the NY Post. Silly me, I thought it might include ABC news, CNN, CBS, The Guardian, Sky News, BBC, the WP, USA today, CNBC, Politico and the Telegraph amongst others. So let's take a sample of the headlines and the comments of those outlets :- "Trump is finished. The future of the Republican Party belongs to DeSantis" "Donald Trump and US midterms: How bad was his night?, "Trump has zero shot at 2024 in general. After tonight, this isn't up for debate," Mr Cernovich tweeted on Tuesday night. "DeSantis in 2024 or accept total defeat". 'Toxic' Trump is branded a 'disaster' by senior GOP figures for 'sabotaging' expected GOP 'red wave' "Why the 2022 election was such a disaster for Trump" "Trump Under Fire From Within G.O.P. After Midterms" "After midterm letdown, Republicans must dump Trump to win in 2024" "‘Trumpty Dumpty’ Torched By Murdoch Media: ‘Perfect Record Of Election Defeat’" "Come on, Republicans. Our midterm losses are the final straw: Dump Trump now." "Trump branded midterms’ ‘biggest loser’ as DeSantis win fuels 2024 talk" "Donald Trump may soon be yesterday's news as America's right-wing media turns to Ron DeSantis" "the night was a "resounding loss" for former president Donald Trump." "Republican Liz Cheney endorses Michigan Democrat in midterm elections"
"Ex-GOP lawmaker: Trump would take back DeSantis endorsement if he could" "Trump. Briefly speaking to reporters afterwards, he confirmed he voted for the re-election of political rival Ron DeSantis as Florida governor." At least the BBC reported on Trump's actual wins & losses unlike most of the news sources.
But I am sure you are correct it is mostly rightwing outlets that had are attacking Trump.

Apparently his announcement is defo going ahead. Trump may still be popular with a cohort of the Republican base, but it appears the Republicans have under performed against their expectations and Trump is copping some of the flack. Could be interesting if this turns in to a DeSantis v Trump race, it could get quite nasty.
The question is would DeSantis be prepared to put his aspirations on hold for Trump to go again? If DeSantis was say, offered the VP ticket to Trump, if Trumps residency went Pete Tong then DeSantis could easily be tarred with the negativity and finished. Alternatively, Trump presidency could go well and DeSantis could be a shoe in. That said, Biden is not getting great reviews and DeSantis may see this as his best chance.

You miss the point. The media that supported him, has turned. He will be gone or he will kill the GOP. Try reading some journalism with political insight from across a spectrum. Not MAGA internet sources. Do you actually have any experience of the US? Have you ever been?
