Totally agree.
Yes, City may have freed up some wages by off loading other players, but where do they get £100m from other than their owner's deep pockets?
They can buy almost any player in the world with that financial muscle. Why bother developing any player when others can do that for you allowing you to simply grab them any summer you feel like?

Apparantly the FFP is being shelved for this summer according to some on ESPN so that is why its open season and with Messi supposedly available and heading to PSG they are taking full advantage. |  | | |

Thing is Ted that money comes from the public.
If everyone gave up their pay TV and internet subscriptions and gave the money to the NHS - its sorted.

In City's case I'd suggest it comes from an investment in soft power by a regime that wants to be on the world stage while deflecting attention from its authoritarianism and poor human rights record. |  |
