Swansea City v Wycombe Wanderers : Matchday Thread AFTERMATH 16:49 - Apr 14 with 16639 viewsNotLoyal

All of a sudden positivity returns, the impossible may well be possible and Steve Cooper continues to defy the odds. Sadly Phil didn’t.

Swansea City v Wycombe Wanderers
EFL Championship
Saturday April 17th 2021
Kick off 12.30pm
Liberty Stadium

Match Officials
KEITH from STROUD
Jonathan Hunt and Sam Lewis
Fourth Official: Joshua Smith

The last time we saw Keith from Stroud at the Liberty was for the 3-1 defeat to Bristol City where the swans committed more individual errors than in any game this season.

Is it on the TV ?
Only via Swans TV and whatever Wycombe and their three fans watch games on.

Wycombe manager
Gareth Ainsworth, loves hair and likes to be different.

The stats for prats
Swans record v Wycombe
Games won: 7
Games drawn: 2
Games lost: 6

Last game was at the Adams family park where the attendance looked like the Covid lockdown had been stopped. It was a 2-0 win for the swans but shoulda been a lot more.

Big day for Phil
Unfortunately for followers of royalty and similar things HRH Phil will be planted on this day, hence the earlier kick off time. Phil wasn't the most popular chap in the royal family, he had slightly old fashioned ideas, luckily he never once switched to a 422, and always played with three up front. We hope he has a fairly trouble free journey.

Phil, we are not sure if he is alive or dead here, but it’s D day Saturday

Timmy Mallet that well known kids presenter from generations gone by visited the Adams family stadium this week. He’s mad is Timmy, look at him being whacky, you don’t have to be mad to work here, but it helps.

I see Cooper's to blame again already then....

Despite keeping the formation that the fans were apparently calling for.

And playing Roberts in an attacking position where he's come off the bench onto last 2 games and made an impact.

He literally can't win with some of our fans.

Oh and apparently its also his fault Hourihane is playing badly too.

He shouldn’t start with Hourihane. That’s why he’s to blame you idiot

Don't disagree, but this is abysmal by us, look at that freekick, complete waste of effort. pathetic.

It is yes.

But I just don’t get this modem phenomenon of being completely nuclear.

If we win then there is a brand new approach and we are playing how everyone wants. When we lose then Cooper must go and we are in meltdown.

We have all experienced the championship long enough to know there is a bigger picture at play here and things aren’t decided on 55 mins of football.

Our fan base used to be far more level headed and patient than we are these days. It was a large part of our success as it goes.

What will we see next week? Perhaps he'll put Bidwell left wing and Ayew at right back. Who knows?

The man is a fraud. He won a tournament with a once in a generation England U17 team and is dining off of that. He's an appalling club football coach/manager.

Yes could see it wasn't working half time change it be proactive

Hindsight is marvellous.

A stern talking to with the same formation that's played so well in the last few games, with the intent of changing it shortly if that doesn't work is a perfectly logical course of action.

Ref has let them get away with murder.
Very physical team.

Both goals were just after half time?

Did you expect him to make changes after 47 minutes?

And has now brought on 2 attacking players after their goals.
[Post edited 17 Apr 2021 13:57]

It wasn't working in the first half.

He could have made ac hange for the restart.
He could have madea change after their first goal.

He never makes a change until it is too late.

Just why isn’t Whittaker started .

Because we never tend to play well as a team with him in the side, doesn’t make good attacking decisions and has scored 1 in 30+ professional appearances.

If only to yourselves .

You don’t have to defend yourselves on here certainly not Steve.

Another manager of a lowly club putting one over on Steve.

It’s embarrassing

So you'd have reverted away from the formation that many fans supposedly lobbied for after playing it for 2 wins on the spin in the first half of a game we're drawing 0-0?

Managers live and die by their decisions but let's at least keep it logical.

Luton all over Watford.

13 shots to 3 and nearly 60% possession.

It’s the Championship, it’s bonkers. We all know this by now. We are 3rd with a handful of games left.

Why do our fans find it so hard to get behind the club when things aren’t going our way in a game?

It’s truly bonkers isn’t it.

3rd in the league and smashing all expectation.

Some see the macro level whilst others flounder and sink in the micro ebb and flow.

The players have decided to be complacent after two massive wins and pulsating performances away from home to nigh on secure our promo credentials.

Who is a passenger. So you think he should start regardless? It was down to Routledges nous and creativity that we won our last two games - Hourihane I hardly even noticed. Here just to pick up a wage - he’s a disgrace to his profession.

Come on guys, let's not blame Steve.

We've been inexplicably losing to bottom of the table dross for many years now, and I'm sure we'll keep to doing it for many more years to come.

You talk about keeping it logical but include the fans choice formation as part of your argument...

"Managers live and die by their decisions but let's at least keep it logical. " - at last, so Cooper IS responsible for this!

Can you imagine the outcry if he'd start Smith in midfield alongside the other 2 against bottom of league team at home. Shouts of negative Cooper then. You honestly think Dhanda would have made any difference to this? He'd have been dominated by their midfield.

Smith has far more industry than Hourihane - he seems to think he’s there to take any juicy free kicks and nothing else .

Yep,Hoolie started ok but sadly he has been exposed as a lazy ,gutless passenger of a player. Should never start .
I have to be careful with what I say but I don’t have to .Its there for all to see.

This team performance is down to the manager. The whole team is out of cinque
