We're signing a 28 year old, with no real injury record to note, who has played for a much better team than us in both this league and the league above.
He fits our system. We've trialled him before taking the plunge. He's free. He'll be well within our wage structure. He offers us depth in the midfield. There's almost no risk involved.
Does it excite me? of course not. But equally, it doesn't concern me either. We're still in the market for other players in other positions, this just fills a hole that needs to be filled... |  |

Sod this playing football lark, I really miss those Holloway days.
Sorry for being flippant, I know it ain't gonna be exciting at times, but neither is the predictable launch and then scrum in midfield when for once it doesn't go to their goalie. The best footballing sides pass it around in circles for much of the game, looking to create a gap and slip a ball. The exciting stuff mostly comes on the break. |

It's a one year contract with an experienced midfield player who has played at Premiership and Championship level in a midfield, bar Cameron, full of young players in their early 20s, or in Bettache's case, 20, who have a season or less experience at this level. He isn't going to set the world alight but he's really there to simply add some experience. Plus although he is considered lightweight he's not a bad player who tends to do the simple things, like passing, quite well. |  |

When we signed Lord Derry I thought it was terrible business. Thought the guy would be of limited use to us, how wrong I was. Although very different players, just like Warnock saw a use for Derry, it's obvious MW can see LTC adding something to the Team and improving us. I'm happy to trust his judgement.
I think we'll benefit from having a tidy ball playing midfielder in the middle park. Given transfer fee and wages, overall I'd say good signing with limited risk. | | | |

This has been done the right way. Trialed and observed, strengths and weaknesses taken into account, decision made, 1 year contract within budget and with a 1 year option, presumably.
