Striker 14:11 - Aug 19 with 4259 views | Kerouac | With the chances of Brewster resigning on loan diminishing by the day have any of you any ideas about... 1 - A good young Premier League striker worth loaning 2 - A striker available on a free that fits the bill 3 - A striker we could realistically sign who would be worth the money?

Striker on 14:18 - Aug 19 with 3220 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Of the candidates Loader of Reading was the best prospect with Cooper contacts but reportedly wants unrealistic wages. Ive had alook at possible loan strikers at Liverpool and Chelsea and nothing compares to Brewster. Could existing players be converted to out and out strikers like Asoro and Peterson? Personally I would like to see Woodburn as a number 10. If he is going to be a star he has to deliver this season.

The problem is that you need a genuine '9'. Rodgers' side only got promoted because he loaned Borini who led the line superbly for the last 4 months of the season. Ayew isn't a '9'. Routledge isn't a '9'. Kalulu, Garrick, Asoro...all not '9s'. The only player that looks like a '9' is Cullen, and although I like what I see he has only been on as a sub a few times. We need at least one genuine striker, with Cullen deputising.

Striker on 16:21 - Aug 19 with 3130 views | Kerouac | Cardiff City are trying to sign ex-Blackpool striker Armand Gnanduillet on a free. Should we be in for him? 18 goals in 36 games last year.

Striker on 17:16 - Aug 19 with 3089 views | Catullus | We should learn from Brentford and do like they do. Look at the gems they found. Ollie Watkins was superb and cost them around 1.8 million, how much is he worth now, haven't I seen 25 million being thrown around? I know we won't be spending millions but we still need to be willing to spend something. We won't find enough good players purely in loans and free transfers.

Borini and Sinclair were fluid across the front line - defences couldn't cope,

Lowe is not High enough in the striker pecking order. And is more of an utility forward. And as Mourinho is famously quoted as saying: " I am The Special one, I only recruit Specialists, ....not Utility players" We desperately need a Specialist up top

There aren’t enough strikers in the pecking order for Lowe to far off the top of it, surely.

We need to off load a few midfielders to get a good striker. Celina only 23 what a waste of a very good playet. We will regret not using him

Lowe has scored 82 goals in 324 games, a great back up to a striker if he gets 15 or so this season. But not a number 9.

Cooper released Baker Richardson as quickly and Brendan moved on Shefki Kuci so does not appear to like target centre forwards perhaps prefereing pace. If I was head of football I would ask Mr Cooper to consider both Peterson and Asoro as out and out strikers. Both may have had issures of "tracking back" and workrate. Free of these responsibilities they especially Asoro could benefit.

The trouble is, like yesterday showed is that if a team drops deep then pace is useless. The way Cooper sets up is to pass the ball around the edge of the area. Pace has no benefit for those tactics. Now Potter would set up and utilise Lowe perfectly

In that case, Cullen seems to fit the bill, though not convinced Cooper is ready to give him a proper run at it. Brewster is now our benchmark striker, a hard act to follow for the likes of young Cullen, and in fact almost all contenders. Crack this challenge, keep Ayew and Grimes and we're in with with a fight

Pace can hurt anybody, if a team drops deep then it's the managers job to find a way through and communicate that, make changes to sort it out. Asoro could work up front if there was someone alongside him. Why not try Asoro and Cullen the first few games? At least while he's looking elsewhere for an option?
