Only 23 "signatures" from Russia, over 1200 from Canada.

Utterly pointless petition due to the rigging, easily ignored.

About 10% of the entire population of Tuvalu has signed too.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Are you saying official opinion polls where there is evidence of irregularities should be ignored by politicians?

What irregularities are thre on this one? They are open to anyone in the world to sign, as intended.

Just means they are completely and utterly pointless - plus they aren't even debated in HoC...

Some of them are. And the government is already obliged to respond to this one.

Has to be more substantive than that. I’ve written a few. This isn’t going to change anything of course, not pretending it is.

Nothing to see here. Everyone's just forgot to turn off the vpn they use to get round Theresa's porn ban.

I realise it’s a shock to you brexiteers, but some people move to other countries yet still have a view.

Someone posted up a link to other countries’ votes earlier sneering about it on twitter until it was pointed out they had posted a list that said ‘rejected’ on it.

I saw a list that said ‘Barbados - 6’ earlier, approximately an hour after I’d had an email from mates who live there saying they’d signed the petition today, together with 2 other friends that are staying with them. So I personally know 4 of the 6 - it’s not a stretch to believe the number.

France 10k, Austria 662, Ireland 1813.

If you want the figures, all you need to do is click on the link on the petition page which returns the data in json format. Not difficult to write code to parse that automatically, but looking at it manually the figures are there.

The page is ridiculously easy to game, I've signed 5 times for 5 different nations.

A few hundred thousand brits live in France. And given they were excluded from the referendum (I think?), open minded about EU integration and are directly affected, takeup will be high.

It is easy to sign up (it's supposed to be), but don't underestimate the feelings of those most diectly affected (same goes for other EU nationals living in UK).

As long as the petition is in favour of remain...they couldn't give a toss who signed it.

Now if it was a petition to leave, it would ridiculed to hell and back.

I'm not denying any of that. Brits living abroad more likely to want Remain for vested interests.

They get rid of what they think are false names every so often on all government petitions.

But if only you all cared as much about false info and foreigners’ tricks for an actual referendum than you do for a meaningless petition we wouldn’t be in this mess.

I’m pretty certain that there are enough Brits in France at any given time to end up with 10k signatures though. And enough in Ireland to have 1800.

I quoted those figures, Lisa, to highlight what appears to me to be inaccuracies. France, yes. That amount more than Ireland though? Hmm, possibly. Only 3 times as many from Ireland as Austria? Just don't see that.

The actual referendum was conducted by people voting in a manner in which ( as far as possible with regards to identity / eligibility to vote ) was accurate. Petition? ANyone can sign, multiple times.
