The last eight Premier League winning centre halves were:

Huth (31), Morgan (32), Terry (35), Cahill (30), Kompany (30), Lescott (33), Ferdinand (34), Vidic (31).

And look what happened..

Kompany turns into sick note.
Cahill and Terry tried their best to relegate Chelsea
Lescott is in the Championship
Ferdinand retired
Vidic fell apart

I'm waiting for Huthwaite and Morgan to get relegated.

The awkward moment when a Welsh Club become the Champions of England.. shh The Swansea Way.. To upset the odds.

And I bet they'll all die eventually. Useless bastards.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

You'd have thrown them all on the scrap heap before they won their titles.

A lot of these theories are absurd.

Ash's best days are well behind him. I'm not saying he's done being a quality CB for a premier league club, but he's lost a little bit every year for the last few.

Rejecting Everton's first bid is a sign that things are headed in the right direction. The club could stand to make 12-15M on a player well past the other side of 30. That would be some of the best business Swans have ever done. It's too good to pass up. Amat is quality. Fede has been solid, if not spectacular. Van der Hoorn must have something to him, and you know they will sign another CB and use some of the profit to address other areas of the squad.

As a backup they should go after Gylfi's mate from the Iceland team. He looked immense during the Euro's and wouldn't cost much.

Good for Huw and the rest of them for not being pushovers, and good luck to Ash on his "new challenge"

Huw is very quick to say no, and thinks to hard about saying yes, bit like the Mrs.

Prepare for a new bid - quite right to reject the first offer but I hope we will agree to sell for anything over £15 million in this market and let Amat and Fede become our number 1 pairing.

I get the impression that this was not a £10 million bid but a bid that could be worth up to £10 million pounds.

The wording from us is that we are not looking to sell Ash rather than he is not for sale, so it may be all down to the finer details of a bid. Doubt if we have heard the last of this one.

By rejecting the bid and forcing Ash to hand in a transfer request won't this mean we don't have to pay him off and more money to the club?

We should offer Ash an improved contract and extension.
He's been immense for us and it's not his fault another club wants to sign him.
If Everton are serious, then let them come in with a big money offer

the key part of the statement from the club are the last five words of this:

A club spokesman said: "We are not looking to sell him and therefore we have turned down the offer currently on the table."

Saying he could go, but not for that money mate...

Also, "We are not looking to sell him". Not, he is not for sale

Everton, up your offer, and he's yours.

Loyalty bonuses aren't a big thing any more as everyone kept trying to game the system. Most signing bonuses are now guaranteed and not contingent on not handing in written transfer requests etc.

I'm sure that's true but I also believe Huw is playing the 'we don't want to sell' card to force Ash to come out & state his position, then if he wants to go Huw can play the 'what could we do, & look we got top dollar for a 32 yr old' cards.

15M and he will be off and i do not blame the club for taking it if it comes, thought 10M was good.

I think he will go. It may even be just a case of forcing a transfer request or trying to get more of the £10m guaranteed or up front.

Whether he stays or goes, I haven't been very impressed with our new owners so far, but this and Gylfis new contract are two big ticks in the box for them.
