Phillips? 00:19 - Apr 2 with 10796 views | MancR | Doesn't even look like a footballer on tonight's evidence, completely innocuous and disinterested. 6 million ? We'd be lucky to get 60k at the moment: (
Phillips? on 12:41 - Apr 2 with 2393 views | Esox_Lucius | Perhaps he should have been played on the right. He never does that well playing on the left. Most of the above just comes across as knee jerk reaction to a defeat and usual trait of having to find a scapegoat all the time.

Phillips? on 10:51 - Apr 2 by BazzaInTheLoft | Isn't 7 goals and 5 assists more of a fact than a excuse? |
So he's got seven goals and five "assists". Big deal. He plays every week, he doesn't bother to defend so he should have a lot more goals than that. Chery has played a lot less and he has nine goals, even Perch has three "assists". The bloke is a liability, clearly isn't interested and doesn't want to play for us although he is happy to take his no doubt exorbitant salary each week.
Phillips? on 14:37 - Apr 2 with 2273 views | baz_qpr | Could not work out whether he is just totally bereft of confidence, too worried about Adomah first half or just playing at 50% to get his move and price down. Not the only player to have a poor game though, Ale, Ned, Angella and Hall all had stinkers
Phillips? on 15:10 - Apr 2 with 2232 views | Lblock | The only way Phillips could be any worse would be if he had Shaun and Wright in front of his name. Robbing barsteward. I'm hoping JFH can rid the club of these workshy multi-millionaires this summer

In f'cking deed. It's easily notable that the fella is useless/doesn't try on telly over here. I bet he looks 10 times worse in real life. Watching him off the ball and that.

Phillips? on 15:48 - Apr 2 with 2201 views | stansleftfoot | I don't fully understand the strategy in regard to Matty Phillips. He's stopped winning matches or even threatening to, he's never really inspired confidence in his defensive duties. Last night must be the end of the road, we are safe in the division, Phillips could be held responsible for having his role in all three goals, why do we need him play, why does JFH need to watch him play....if they let you down once, they will again. Lets move on and begin to pick from a group of players that will start the season...surely dropping Phillips must be the start of that concept....if somebody tells me its about his transfer fee and good money management, i refer you to our TF's latest audited accounts.

Honestly, I suspect it's to put him in the shop window. But at this point it's probably doing more harm than good | | | | Login to get fewer ads

would be more than harsh to blame him for any of the goals last night. He's just the latest scapegoat who isn't playing well. I thought Faurlin and Hall were just as bad as him last night

Ok mate. Didn't realize we could afford to throw 12 goals down the pisser, some of which won us three points. Anyway you and I both know everyone will hate someone else in a couple of weeks so I I'm not sweating too much.

Phillips? on 21:18 - Apr 2 with 2019 views | yankranger | He shows no effort. He does nothing unless he has the ball at his feet, and even then, most of the time he does nothing with it. He thought he was going in the last window and has shown zero effort since he stayed. A good specimen with some talent, but unfortunately, we will see nothing of it at QPR. He is the last of the overpaid/lack of effort players we have left. Sell him at first chance, even at a loss.

Goals and assists. Not all players are grafters. If you want legs sign Carlton Palmer.

I'm not questioning his legs, goals or assists. I'm questioning his attitude and heart. He does not seem to try or care. I'd rather have another Mackie with less goals or assists but triple the effort.

I know 11 Polish builders with attitude, heart, and effort and would be lot cheaper than Phillips or Mackie.

We're just going to have to disagree on this one. His price per output is not what we need right now. I was one of the guys that constantly defended Adel's lack of effort or professionalism because of his pure talent. It's not the same debate with Matt Phillips...

One thing that can't be measured by stats is heart and that is one thing McPhillips patently lacks.yes he does have ability, hence the goals and assists but the golden period with Austin looks like a blip. He's had enough chance to show he means business but most of the time doesn't look interested , which is why he gets stick. And it's not cos we lost . IMO he was equally poor v Brentford when rest of the team were superb.Maybe another manager will be able to motivate him to produce more consistently but I can't see a future here. We had 3 sort of wingers on the bench v Boro so no surprise he was subbed. I've never understood players who have ability but use it so rarely.
Phillips? on 10:48 - Apr 5 with 1694 views | TacticalR | Phillips has been up and down this season. In the Middlesbrough game he was played out of position and didn't get into the game, but in my opinion does not deserve to be made Public Enemy No. 1. I think people are lumping him in with some of the real wasters who came from big clubs (he did not come to us from a big club). He has probably suffered more than anyone from the loss of Austin as a big part of his game was old school crossing to an old school centre forward.

Phillips? on 14:56 - Apr 5 with 1651 views | RANGERS4EVER | Gotten to the point where you can't criticise a player on here anymore without being considered a boo boy or a pessimist. Phillips is not a confidence player. He only looked good in the Premier League because we were unbelievably shite. He scored on wonder goal, now tries it everytime even if there are better options. He gets one good cross in from every 10 shit ones he does. He doesn't run back, never helps the defence, gets cocky, gets greedy, and never tries to take on his man. In two years of being us he has been good for 3 months, and even then he was just made to look good. Complete waste of a player

Phillips? on 15:01 - Apr 5 with 1640 views | fakekerby | I absolutely guarantee we won't get a much better winger than Philips - so whatever happens there will be moaning. Wingers are very inconsistent players, even at the highest level. Philips is still very young, a fact often forgotten. I don't think he's worth anywhere near the 6 million quid price tag, but I also don't think we'd be able to replace him with much better if he left.
Phillips? on 15:04 - Apr 5 with 1639 views | 1MoreBrightonR | I sit on the fence a bit on this...on his day i do think Phillips is great and his crossing, when he nails it, is so so good...but i just cant excuse the kind of lazyness we saw at Boro. it was embarrassing and let the rest of the team down.
Phillips? on 04:35 - Apr 6 with 1556 views | timcocking | He looks ok on the highlights, but you can't tell much from the highlights. If his effort levels (he's not low on confidence and form, he's low on effort) are as bad as you guys are saying, just get him the fcuk out. We can't go up or down, I cannot comprehend why he's being picked, assuming you're not overstating things.
Phillips? on 09:56 - Apr 6 with 1475 views | loftus77 | As said previously, really like Matty Phillips — clearly a quality young player with a future in the Premier League. The problem could well be that presumably him (and/or his agent??) doesn’t see that future with us. Agree with whoever says that he might be playing the way to he is to get his transfer fee down and rubber-stamp an exit to West Brom or Swansea — sad, but that’s the way modern football is.

I absolutely guarantee we won't get a much better winger than Philips - so whatever happens there will be moaning. I think we could and for decent money Dack - Gillingham (the new Ainsworth) Obita - Reading Ryan Fraser - Bournmouth Tavernier - rangers Roofe- Oxford Anthony Limcombe - NEC 19 goals in 50 starts in the Dutch league , leeds had a million pound bid turned down in jan
| And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles
