Saints At Burnley The Verdict
Saints continued their run of bad form and bad luck losing at Burnley in a game they really should have done much better in.
Saints had 60% possession and 15 shots, twice as many as the home team, yet they still lost, a fact that will worry Ronald Koeman.
But before the debacle that was the winning goal the game should have been put to bed, Saints looked comfortable in the main and when they won a penalty it was surely then just a case of scoring it and cruising to victory, as we all know the penalty was saved and he game took a different course.
The worry though is that again we lost to slack defending and this is something we have to sort out and do so fast before a drama starts to become a crisis.
What we have to accept though is that this defeat Is not down to one player or indeed the two or three that some Saints fans are keen to make scapegoats.
Now Ronald Koeman has to get the team back on track for Tuesday at Sheffield United and get his squad focused.
This was not a great game, but good teams don't become bad ones overnight
