Its another Southampton V Pompey South Coast Derby in the battle of the small venues.
Rock music paper The NME is holding a competition to find the best small music venue and the Joiners has been nominated in the South East section alongside amongst others The Wedgewood Rooms at Pompey, now as fine as that venue is, lite its City's football team its a mere youngster compared to the Joiners and putting on bands, The wedge as its locally knows has been putting on gigs for a mere 20 years whilst the Joiners has been going since the 70's and earlier.
Over that time some famous names have passed though the doors of the St Mary's Street venue, including Coldplay, Oasis, Primal Scream to name but three and now is the time to make sure that the venue comes out top of the South east heat and gets into the national final.
