Thanks Clive - Spot on with your analysis again - When we saw the team in the pub we were all happy "plenty of goals with that forward line" we all said.
For some reason it just did not click in the final third. Quite right to praise Millwall they came with a plan and executed it perfectly and probably deserved to win. By heck I have seen us lose plenty of games like this over the years.
Patience is definitely the key word here - We are now 14th which is exactly the position I predicted at the start of the season and I've not seen anything to change that yet. However we definitely have better quality and attitude in the team compared to 12 months ago so who knows. |

Personally I was happy with the starting 11 and our performance overall. We contained Palace in the first half yes we could of stepped onto them a bit more but at the risk of them picking us off early and the game being over by half time. We only conceded by switching off at a set piece. Second half we did up the tempo and the tactical change with Dembele coming on made a differance. We scored but then conceded (via a deflection) during a good spell from us. I also thought we finished the game well and came within a whisker of taking the game to penalties.
No complaints from me the squad is coming together nicely with everyone playing for the badge. Look where we were 12 months ago. Still a big work in progress but giving an established Premier League team a bloody good game and a scare is no mean feat and all part of the process. |

Yeah I must say it’s a poor show - I think Marti and the players deserve better.
I know it’s midweek and expensive but even so I think it’s very disappointing. |

I think it's very unusual to get a masterclass 90 minutes especially at this level. Most opposition teams will have good periods in matches as there is not loads in it between the top teams and bottom teams in the Championship. |

Brilliant Clive - I watched at home on my own shouting at the TV but felt like I was in the away end with you all after reading your report.

I thought first 20 minutes we were good - They then scored with a bit of a freak own goal and the momentum changed which happens at this level.
Luton started well second half and the Nardi save was the big turning point we then took 2 chances and from then managed the game well.
I thought Marti got our starting 11 and shape spot on then used the bench superbly to win the game.
Definitely destined for the top just hope he can stay and do great things here too. |

Thank you Clive for climbing out your sick bed to put that report together. I don't know how did that so quickly as its another brilliant read and bang on the money.
I really enjoyed the game it was a high energy and tempo affair with 2 good sides having a right go at each other.
Looking forward to the game tonight fish and chips in front of the TV for me.
Good luck to all the Rangers heading to that shithole tonight - I've not been there for quite some time after numerous visits in the eighties but that's another story......

Luton definitely controlled the match the majority of the time but we hung in there and stayed in the game and always looked dangerous on our counters.
I really enjoyed the game - high energy and tempo and it was absorbing from minute 1 to 94.
Also 4 fantastic penalties ...... |

Brilliant Clive - A great read as always.
We all left the ground and thought the ref had a good game for once. I get the 4 minutes was a bit skinny (although he played five and a half) and the Paal pull back was a definite booking although I think it was our first foul and he had given Plymouth a couple before. Anyway it was a tough game to referee and overall I thought he tried to let the game flow and it turned out to be a good spectacle.
Much better from us - I think we will be fine this season once everything settles down after the transfer window shuts. The September and October International breaks will help us too with getting injured players back and extra time on the training ground.
Looking forward to this week and hopefully a nice Barney Rubble over our friends from Luton. |
