That is the difference this season.
We are mentally and physically weak.
That is the job of the manager to prepare to players for a game mentally and physically.
Quite simply MP is not good enough.
Now its Reeds job to analyse the situation, and take the best course of action with the best advice and information available to him. |

It not really my point, there all "good" players, but are the great players??
Currently in my opinion they are not. I am not saying they wont become great players.
All I am saying s currently none of them would start for a "top 6" side.
The fact is we have scored 25 Goals in 2017. 8 of which came in two games, Watford and Sunderland last season.
So 17 goals against everyone else.
Now how do we solve this problem, well its quite simple we need to create more or finish more. In my opinion this is not a manger issue, we just don't have the little sprinkle of magic which we have always used to have.

League cup - 8 ?!? if 10 is winning it, what is 9? losing in in the final?
FA cup- 4th round exit surly deserves more than a 1. 1 would be losing in the first leg of the first round against Norwich .
League- yes we have been boring, but an 8th finish is an 8th place finish. Can you make an actual case for us being better than any of the top 7? surly performing as expected deserves more than a 4?

We lost to a good City team with some very good players, Kompany and Sane were a level above us.
Had that Tadic scored or Yoshida headed the ball a yard either side of Bravo we would have got something out of the game.
Players need to take there chances against the top teams.
Don't see how you can blame Puel for that

lets all be honest here, Man City were better than us on Saturday.
First half we did well to keep them at bay by keeping a very strong structure, then when we finally get a chance we miss it. We cannot do that anymore against top teams, we have to be more clinical if we are going to progress up the league next year.
That one moment was when we lost the game. We easily cut thought them, and after that our mind set changed, we began to try and play a bit more but in doing this we lost our structure which is when Man City starting coming into the game.
Those moaning at the double substitution, in all seriousness what would you have done when needing to change the game ?!? yes It would have been nice for Gabbiadini to play the 90 mins, but the guy has just come back from an injury! and JWP was hardly setting the world alight on the right wing.

Yes he should remain.
1) Anyone who can improve Yoshida is clearly a good manager.
2) Had we actually had a striker and scored some goals earlier in the season, would we be sitting in 12th now? Had we scored more goals, we would be 10-15 points better off now.
3) The rotation policy has not been ideal, but how much is down to player inconsistency. One week having a MOTM game next week same player cant even pass the ball 5 yards!
I believe this may also be down to a lack of experience in playing European games.
4) lets all stop moaning, get behind the team and let puel do his job. A judgment can be made after 38 games not 23. |

Blaming a rotation policy for “failure†is just making excuses in my opinion, more our squad was not good enough to progress.
Yes I understand team changes can upset fluidity, but how many of these changes have been forced by injury rather than changes for change sake.
At one point we had our third choice full backs having to play week in week out (McQueen/ Martina, I would say McQueen has now overtaken Tagget) , Austin is simply not fit enough to play every game, Jrod has just completed his first 90 mins in 3 YEARS, Long who picked up a knock on the international break, Tadic has a broken nose and even when fully fit rarely completes 90mins, Cedric/Fonte barley had enough time to deload form last season and Boufal wasn’t even fit when we signed him.
Our squad is big, and for the first time in a long time we have actually got competition for places, think we need a striker and another keeper to challenge Fraser tho.

I feel as soon as Austin went off we started playing better. Austin though a proven goal scorer is simply not good enough to lead the line for us at the moment, he's slow and doesn't pass the ball well.
I for one miss Pelle, as he held the ball up well and brought others into the game.
Redmond did well last night, beat his man, but often there was no one offering an easy pass. We need a "number 10" to link between the midfield and attackers, the last few games this area has been vacant.
In summary we NEED MORE GOALS, bring in a proven striker and an actual CAM. |
