Yeah, I tell you what, you'd have to fancy any team for the play-offs that came through that fixture list and had managed to close a 4 point gap on 6th place!
What a great place to be in in February to be even considering it instead of being filled with dread and looking in the other direction. |

I know that we're capable of beating anyone in the Championship, but our March looks really horrible to me. Here's the silver lining: if we go straight back to relegation form and get one point a game for the rest of the season then I think we're a good bet for 16th.
On the other hand, if we're to get 2 points a game, which is what we'd presumably need to finish in 5th or 6th, then we're going to need to tear up some pretty big trees! |

My feeling is that the teams of Cymru (Our national football team is quite rightly called Cymru now) should and eventually will play exclusively in Cymru. The anomalies of the United Kingdom aren't just present in football, but they'll be sorted out when we all realise that it's perfectly normal for countries, all countries, to be independent. A Cymru league with Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Wrexham wouldn't be the most amazing league in the world, obviously, the best players from this side of the border would go to play in England, but I think it could be competitive and fun... we might even persuade the mighty Merthyr to start playing their football exclusively in Cymru again.
There's an interesting parallel here with cricket. I was reading quite recently that the main reason Cymru doesn't have a national cricket set-up like Scotland and Ireland, with test ambitions, is because of Glamorgan CC... they'd obviously lose out if they couldn't play in England. I don't know how true this is, but it would explain why Cymru, which has quite a good cricket heritage doesn't have a relatively high profile national cricket team. [Post edited 14 Jan 19:03]

I did, thanks, mate. It wasn't the game we hoped for, but I'd prepared my boy with the not-since-1967 stat, and we were there for the win last season.
