It did not look like a jail term assault to me.
But he certainly should not be treated any differently to any of us. |
I know that’s right morally but sometimes justice should be meted out to certain members of society who are held in higher regard by the public in order to set an example. That’s why this guy should be in jail. |  |

i'm surprised the police even responded to this. They don't often attend and prosecute violent incidents anymore.
As Peter Hitchen said, the police force and judiciary is no longer fit for purpose and should be abolished and started over again from new.
However, I don't this this was a jailable offence, especially if it was a first offence by the MP. Sacked and humiliated . yes of course. | | | |

One punch could have killed him . arms down by his side ,not physically threatening him , the attack continued on the floor, or course he deserved jail time and should have served it. | |
