He's not just someone who can only write putting out the cones on his CV either. He's done the hard yards too. He's been a National League manager, guiding Kidderminster to the play offs. He's been Assistant/first team coach to several managers, including moonliighting for Republic of Ireland at the time as doing that same role of Assistant Manager for us.
He took over a struggling Birmingham side and led them to their highest points total for years and then guided a struggling Blackburn side to safety. He also had both the latter teams in improbable play off positions. He's got more credibility than many of the marqee names that keep getting jobs. | | | |

The fact that he went from managing Kiddy to being our assistant manager was, I thought at the time, a great move for us and one of the things that gave me confidence in the QPR management of that era. | | | |

Derby's issues go deeper than 22nd. Sold Cashin to Brighton. Nelson is out for the season. Chairman Clowes is wealthy by EMids standards but a long way below Gnangalingam. They didn't score loads in L1 and the record this year isn't great. The keeper and Goudmijn are good but there's a lot of journeymen. |  |
