It's hard to see anything other than a win for Newcastle, but we live in hope if not expectation

Our players are at least battling a bit, but they are so poor, playing world class players. There always is only one outcome every week. We are poor, they are world class. They tried to do it on the cheap.

If Newcastle are world class whats that make Bournemouth?

The job of VAR should not be to decide whether something is e.g. a penalty or offside.

It should be to decide whether the decisions of the onfield officials is within the margin of error expected of them.

If a reasonable margin of error is assumed, as it should be, then VAR will only be getting involved in howlers, as it should be.

Yes. Exactly. We keep hearing VAR is not there to re - referee the game but that is what is happening time and time again.
Referee made a call. VAR couldn't decide immediately if it was a mistake so ffs that is not clear and obvious. It's Just a load of BS. Ruined the game.

Luckily for us Newcastle took their foot off the gas in the second half.

BRING ON IPSWICH!!

We thought that we had the answers, It was the questions we had wrong.

Ipswich are in free fall as well now. Should be an interesting game next week. I couldn't go today, but have a ticket for Ipswich. It's a meaningless game now for Saints, but Ipswich must be banking on this.

Unbelievable The only players threatening to score for us at our defenders. Dont we have any forwards, This is just so crazy. Lets buy another full back! This Club is rotten to the core and the only person I feel at all sorry for is the new boss - he didn't have a chance in a million of sorting out this chaos.

I don't feel sorry for him at all. Juric was always on a no lose gamble.

I feel sorry for every single season ticket holder. You've been robbed

I think our fans have had the life sucked out of them.
How many Managers do we have to have before we find a good one?
0
Newcastle Game Matchday Thread on 17:31 - Jan 25 with 729 viewsDorsetIan

Before Juric we conceded just over 2 goals per game on average.

Under Juric we are at just under 3.

And he has lost all his games.

It's more entertaining to watch his teams than the Martin bore-fest, but let's face facts, he's been another useless appointment by SR who, unbelievably, has made our results even worse than before.

There is no point letting him manage us in the Championship because if he miraculously got us up, he couldn't keep us in the PL.

Kick him in out now ffs get someone in who has at least a fighting chance of picking up points in this league.

There absolutely no reason why a club like Southampton cannot be competing with Bournemouth, Fulham, Brentford, Brighton...

Ha. Exactly my point before we sacked Ralph, Jones, Martin etc. Nothing EVER changes. It just keeps getting worse every time we sack a manager. Because the problem is not the manager. So who do we want next?

The answer is never until we can match the quality of players we are playing.

remember Juric has inherited Martin's team so who knows once he has players that he actually needs but getting the board to cough up is another thing. Point is this season is a write-off as we know with this championship team that we have, so we might as well as give him time for next season. Unless Danny Rohl can come? I think he said to Saints "let me see what i can do at Sheff weds this season and if I can't get them up, then i will come to you" in the summer

The problem isn't just the manager but unless you believe that a manager has no impact on a team, a good manager is always still important.

Ralph was better than all who followed him, but was fading.

Jones and Martin got 1 PL win each.
Selles got 2 (and 4 draws)

Juric has got nothing so far. He seems like the worst of the lot. Which tbh is no great surprise.

He's no good.

He's made the Martin team worse.

Let that settle in. One of the worse teams in the history of the PL worse!!

Well Ruben Selles seems to be doing a good job since he left - 43.59% win percentage at Reading & 36.36% & improving at Hull, who were excellent at Bramall Lane last night. Both really tough jobs.

He was dealt a rubbish hand at St Mary's – a team in freefall & no decent backroom staff. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up back in the Premier League.

Poll: Where do you hope to see Salisu start (OK, I know we haven't seen him yet)?

The team fought hard today I thought, as they did at Man U and Forest in the 2nd half. But it's hopeless isn't it, if Bednerak or whoever c@cks up and makes two mistakes. It's hopeless if we get a chance and blaze it over the bar. They have a world class player izaak who doesn't miss. It's then game over. Most teams we play have match winners and we don't. Our defense is atrocious and theirs isn't. It really won't make any difference which guy is standing on the touchline.

Exactly right. When Ralph got sacked, Adam Armstrong was our main striker. We got relegated. 3 years later, we have the same Adam Armstrong leading our attack. Now ask yourselves why we can't score many goals. It's not the manager!

Everyone on sky sports saying it was a stonewall penalty.

WTF is a stonewall penalty?
Its either a foul or it isn't and if it takes 2 mins or longer to make that decision that it isn't
Stonewall penalty is a media term - they should be taken to task on it.
