I liked “Be Here Now.”

But then I never liked “Morning Glory”.

“Definitely Maybe” was obviously their big triumph.

Hopefully none of these gigs clash with Fratton away next season.

Going to try for tickets for Dublin, which might be chancing it a bit…..

A great earner for them. The masses love a bit of nostalgia.

Just old fellas with silly hair cuts now.

The best thing I can say of them is that unlike most “celebs” they don’t support Manc u or Arsenal.

Oh, and not forgetting that one of them called Blair a knobhead, which I did enjoy…

Definitely Maybe broke them, but Whats The Story was the one that really sent them into a different orbit, Be Here Now for me was more Status Quoasis, they would never be biiger in terms of record sales than Whats the Story.

Definitely maybe sold 6.7 million worldwide
Whats the Story sold 17.7 million
Be Here Now did 7.4 million, but interestingly was one of the fastest selling albums ever on release
By the 4th album they were down to 2.5 Million sales and that was the case for album 5 & 6, the 7th did 1.6 million

If you want to take overall sales for each album including the singles from it etc.

DM did 9.1 million
WTS 26.5 million
BHN 8.5 million

After this they barely did 3 million

Oasis have a really strong and loyal following, but truth is it is all about the first two albums, watching TV this morning all the news channels just showed clips of these albums, I would suspect they will form the bulk of the gigs

Apparently, this is happening because Noel has to pay for his divorce, so expect tickets to be expensive.

I have seen both Liam and Noel in the last few months on their separate solo / High Flying Birds tours.

They both still do a great show.

Liam is still a brilliant front man.

The atmosphere at the Liam gig was brilliant, particularly given the soulless venue (O2 in London). It was the "Definitely Maybe" 30th anniversary tour, which was a superb gig.

This will be the hottest ticket in town by a country mile.

I agree with you they put on good shows and there will be a clamour for tickets, but I think that it is all based on 2 albums 30 years ago and very little of musical note since, whereas if you take someone like U2, they have constantly put out good quality albums that have variety in them and they haven't stuck to one formula

U2 put on a show.
Oasis is 5 people playing music.
I have and would pay a small fortune to watch U2.
Oasis, I’ve been there and done it pre mobile phones.

I went to see Noel Gallagher last month but I managed to get a reduced VIP ticket last minute off Twickets.
I will probably wait and do the same next summer for Oasis.
If it doesn’t happen, so be it.

The next U2 tour, however, I will be purchasing in the fan club presale.

Go and see Noasis, decent enough tribute band, and probably only £20-25!

Go and see The Real People, the band that taught Oasis all they know before they became famous.

Yesterday's people desperate to make a few more quid from music that's 15 years old (and shows).

Compare them to say Biffy Clyro who I saw at the weekend. Energy, dynamic, great tunes and brilliant musicians who clearly loved being at a gig.

I know who I'll be buying tickets for next year.

I bought my first album in 1793, a collection of Sea shanties, so that makes me far more knowledgeable about music, I now have it on CD, but its yet to be released on Spotify yet

I saw them a number of times inc Knebworth and had all the records. This was only going to work if Bonehead, Guigsy and one one of the old drummers were involved. Its literally now going to be Liam singing with the High Flying Birds, which ok does contain a former secondary member. Its not Oasis in my eyes and really both Noel and Liam have kept the songs going on their sets since the split.

Nobody really goes to see Bonehead, Guigsy or the drummer though, do they?

It's all about the two brothers.

What a load of bollux Matthew. Even in the 90s people went to see the brothers not the other band members.

It cant be denied that the Gallaghers are the heart of the band, but you can say that with most bands, the singer and the guitarist are the front men, but people who are the real fans want to see the other members in the band.

Perhaps Oasis more than many, as they were seen as the ultimate lads band, a gang of mates who went from playing in local bars in Manchester to Knebworth.

Would it still sell out if it was Noel & Liam plus a few session musicians ? Yes of course it would, but those who were there 30 years ago would also want to see the people who helped make the music.
