Official line (from what has just been read out on radio) is that the ref was told not to look at the monitor as it was handball and no need to look, so tbf to ref, not his call. Though thought that was not remit for this year!
Haven't seen it but pundits all saying it was "above tee shirt line" and should have been allowed
But as you say, money clubs rule 1, rest of us rule 2
Maybe that's RM's plan, get back to no var next season!

Getting the impression that VAR is going to be involved much less this year.

But when it does, we can still expect it to f*ck up and we can still expect stupid 'level' offsides too.
