Hampshire's greatest footballers 14:53 - Dec 20 with 27121 views | 130yrs_and_one_Cup | Updated full list. Some very good players here. Of course Portsmouth gets the lions' share, but Southampton is a good second. I imagine that there is little dispute in this list, if we are basing it on facts and not bias. 1- 10 Top Draw Portsmouth : Von Donop : Hampshire’s first ever superstar Soton : Ted Drake : Good scoring rate, right time, right place Portsmouth : Reg Flewin : One of only 6 captains to win post war back to back championships Portsmouth : Peter Harris : Probably the highest ever scoring winger in England. Champion Alton: Jimmy Dickinson : Mr consistency for club and country. Champion Aldershot: Johnny Berry : In terms of trophies, tops the list. Champion Portsmouth : Ray Crawford : Scored the goals to give Ipswich the Championship Farnham : Peter Storey : Probably Hampshire’s hardest footballer, champion and serial winner Greater Portsmouth : Bobby Tambling : In Chelsea’s greatest ever team. Hampshire's greatest footballers on 19:27 - Mar 3 by this_charming_man | You’re tragic. Although I’ve enjoyed your research of schools in Mychett and army camps in hants and Surrey today to desperately try and fail to prove your point. It’s just a shame that every day your precious thread gets ever more laughable. Enjoy your evening. |
What is tragic is that you are arguing about it, and yet I am giving you simple facts with a tiny amount of subjectivity. The problem for you is that I have just proved in this thread what I have been saying for ages, that the blue sector of Hampshire produces more quality players than the red sector. The facts speak for themselves ie goals and appearances Au revoir

‘... simple facts with a tiny amount of subjectivity.’ Dear me. I’ll shall call this legitimising of the twisting of truth, ‘mongboardic licence’.

A list drawn up by a drooling simpleton who can't even spell top drawer has about as much validity as a child's scribbles. With an intellect as limited as his, is it any wonder he has players from Surrey and Sussex in his list of Hampshire's greatest footballers? But, he's so blinded by his own hubris that he doesn't realize how ridiculous that looks. As, like drawer, hubris is a word consisting of more than four letters, the simpleton will undoubtedly have to look up what it means. If he'd been in a class of eleven-year-olds, assigned the task of compiling an accurate list of Hampshire's greatest footballers, he'd have found himself in the position he usually found himself in, at his village school: bottom of the class. He epitomizes the village idiots from the Hampshire countryside who form the majority of little Pompey's support. No wonder they look like a bunch of Morris dancers. [Post edited 4 Mar 2020 12:52]

Hampshire's greatest footballers on 09:05 - Mar 4 with 1718 views | Butty101 | If there was a list of hampshires most mauled on the internet, 130 would be in the top 10. Or would it be Canadas most mauled - its very subjective :-)

To be fair, Ontario has always been considered part of Greater Portsmouth, let me just find a Wikipedia page to prove it...

This is Dirk Buffoon's list drawn up on the Mount thread "Anyway here is a list of the 10 greatest footballers born in Hampshire in the way 130 does it: Of course, they have to have played for England because any footballer born in England who couldn't even manage to get an England cap would be called mediocre but certainly not great. Southampton Ted Drake Southampton Martin Chivers Southampton Bill Ellerington Southampton Graham Roberts Southampton Darren Anderton Southampton Tom Parker Southampton Wayne Bridge Winchester Terry Paine Andover Bill Rawlings Alton Jimmy Dickinson" https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/forum/250858/page:2 What a goons' list, full of bias, incredible omissions and 'outstanding players like Bill Ellerington and Bill Rawlings. Rawlings made 35 TF apps, whilst Ellerington, one of Sotons' finest didn't manage any. Only a simpleton would come up with a list like that. Look up 'Top Draw' on google you goon, and while you are at it consider these pages https://db0nus869y26v.cloudfront.net/en/Warblington_School https://pompeynewsnow.wordpress.com/2017/03/02/family-connections-at-hayling/ [Post edited 4 Mar 2020 13:51]

Hampshire's greatest footballers on 14:52 - Mar 4 by Butty101 | Talking of goons - have you figured out why that wiki page appears when you search greater portsmouth? Im guessing you have, as you ignoring that thread. Time to update your list and get the greater portsmyth off the list. Why you are at it, you can remove the london born players that you are tying to claim. |
I'd be surprised if a goon like you can get 80% of these answers in time https://www.jetpunk.com/quizzes/biggest-urban-areas-in-the-uk

You lot keep starting these threads, I have just put a half decent list together, and you don't like it, even though almost all the players at the top have the most goals and appearances in the top flight, A bit gutting eh?

I know you struggle with maps after not being able to work out the county Ash is in but this one is a little easier as it's 1000s of miles away from Hampshire [Post edited 5 Mar 2020 12:51]
