Sky Sports will be showing 3-4 games per match round if football returns.

If the Swans are live on Sky, and you are a season ticket holder and a sky sports subscriber - it is not a great deal.

It’s not a great deal anyway is it.

Overseas supporters with Swans TV will be paying £7.99 a match or could have bought a season ticket for all matches for £110 (so a cost of less than a fiver a game) while season ticket holders will be paying over £20 a game to watch the same stream.

Unfortunately this type of common, simplistic perspective only serves to tarnish the reputation of the Football industry and fuel fans' discontent.

Football Fans cannot be compared with customers of FTSE companies.
FTSE companies (in the main) cannot be compared with Footy companies.
FTSE CXOs absolutely cannot be compared with Football players.

Football fans pay good money to follow the team they love to watch the players deliver entertainment, score goals and win games.
- We go to watch (say, Ayew) do his magic, do an assist, score a goal etc

FTSE customers don't do the above.
- We don't go and watch (say, the CFO) balance the books, strike a refinancing deal etc

Football fans are stakeholders with a deep connection. Footballers are the way they are because us fans are more than happy to pay good money to watch them play for the team we love. 9/10 fans would happily invest that £85 back in the club.

To call football fans mugs on a football fans forum is odd, to say the least.

(Deloitte has some top experts who specialise in the Football industry, they are worth speaking to)

9/10 fans would happily invest that £85 back in the club.

And how did you draw that conclusion. If it was still our club yes, but now its owned by an American consortium no.

Absolutely!

I'd say 2, maybe 3/10 at a push 😀

You can forget that.

In their eyes, they invested in units of a Hedge fund packaged asset, not in a football club. They risked the capital and volatility of returns on that investment. Surely no one in their right mind would buy more units in that fund, even if it were feasible.

What you are suggesting would be like shareholders of M&S refunding customers for returning their knickers.

The club could try and raise more capital, which (I think) is now allowed by the articles. If anyone was dull enough to stump up then that would dilute the trust, or be a high interest loan, given the perilous state of all clubs bar a dozen or so.

Fair.

But the thought of Birch going cap in hand to 13k or so loyal season ticket holders, while 27 multi millionaires across the pond sit pretty on thier investment stinks the house out.

As I said in my response on page1 my money will go to a good cause . However, I would rather walk down Queen St and hand it too the first person I se wearing a Cardiff shirt than leave it with the club in the current circs.
The 27 owners would be happy to take the dividends if we were top half of Prem , well guess what when you buy into a business you take the rough with the smooth. And the players should also take the hit to prevent ordinary staff getting furloughed.

But football has shown it's true colours during this pandemic and maybe, just maybe there may be a change in attitude towards the game when all this is over.

Swansea City is a business, in the main owned by an American consortium. In these difficult times, to keep bushiness afloat sacrifices are being made by owners and the employees. In this case that should mean directors, management and players. Not the customers, us the supporters.

Lets see something done by owners, players and management. Then they can talk about us chipping in.

They're not sitting pretty though Jaxs. They paid around 60m and have had no return. What do you think shares in the asset might be worth now?

Nobody disagrees do they? All I'm saying is that these are not normal 'owners', other than in the context of passive shareholders (in this case two steps removed as they invested in a fund). If you think they will put any more money in, I think you are pissing in the wind. Player and management pay cuts is the only real viable route and there seems to be no appetite for that. Personally I would say insist on refunds for any service we don't get and then force them to look at other avenues. Fans in the first instance taking back 85 quid is not going to lead to them liquidating the club.

Yes the only ones sitting pretty are the sellouts.

The owners are 60 million down the drain potentially season ticket holders about 500 quid each if they have one for next season but the cost of seeing a team i have supported for more than 45 years going bust is worth more than 500 quid 10 pound a year.

Even the greedy players are being somewhat short sighted by not taking a pay cut as is Birch and the owners where do they think they will get there money from if the club goes bust.

So no winners bar the sellouts and even they could lose there ill gained in court.

A sad affair all round all created by the greed of a few.

It's just a hunch, but when the yanks finally ride off into the sunset, they wont be out of pocket.

What are they going to do then invest shrewdly get us promoted and sell on for a big profit because PL is the only way they are getting their money back.

And disinterested owners and promotion dont usually go hand in hand.

Or are you saying they have had there hands in the honey jar because there is no evidence to back it up.
