He will be every time he stands up and he’ll continually make Corbyn look like a doddering old fool like he did today. That’s Johnson’s strength. Scratch beneath the surface of course and there’s no substance to any of it, it’s nakedly populist rhetoric that is meaningless when considered properly and it won’t appease those non Johnson acolyte Tories on the backbenches enough to persuade them to countenance leaving with no deal. Johnson is on an election footing and it’s only a matter of time.

Resigned his previous ministerial position due to his opposition to Brexit, no less. What’s his last name again?

To add a bit more balance, it's not that hard to make a doddering old fool look like a doddering old fool. But yes, rabble rousing with no reference to truth or intention to be held to any consequences or implementation is the fraud's strength, even his charter. It's very dangerous. Against the utterly hopeless and bankrupt Corbyn Hill Mob, if he can marginalise farage by being just as c*ntish, he could easily fluke an election. It really is going to be fascinating to watch it all unwind.

Such a minor post that no one cares about apart from universities. Was quite well regarded by our VC. Will be interesting as to whether the Auger report is implemented. It is, of course, a complete compromise to attract middle-class votes. Does nothing for the universities or poorer students.

It’s an election then isn’t it and another delay (“it wasn’t me that delayed it guv, it was those pesky eurojohnnies and traitor MPs”. Johnson is by nature a coward and will be shitting his pants that he ends up with no deal, and being responsible for the fall out.

If the twà t has any sense he’ll go for a second referendum rather than a GE. At least he’ll have a chance of holding on to job he’s craved since he was out of short trousers. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It's Boris on 16:41 - Jul 25 by londonlisa2001 | Again, you’re missing the point. Some calls for a second referendum are from those who want to clarify what exactly people are voting for. Some calls are from people who want a way out of a mess with seemingly no answer. Some calls are from people who want to remain, but understand that there aren’t the votes in parliament for revoking (as there are huge numbers who are terrified of losing their seats so won’t admit the truth) so see a second referendum as the only way of remaining. Jo Swinson wants to remain - the LibDems want to remain, they have been crystal clear throughout. As have the Greens. They voted against triggering article 50. But Swinson can’t get the votes to revoke, only for a second referendum. So her calls for it are not an indication that she’s unsure about the democratic will of the people - she disagrees with it. But additionally, she and others believe that the original vote didn’t provide clarity as no one knew what ‘brexit’ meant. That’s become completely clear. Mark Francois’ Brexit is not the same as Gove’s Brexit even though both are and always have been leavers. So a second referendum is also required to find out what people actually mean. But for the LibDems that’s a secondary issue as they don’t believe in any form of Brexit. |
No I’m not you are. We know they are remain, they’ve been shouting it from the rooftops ever since the vote. The point is up until yesterday, at no point whatsoever has any of them said they’ll still try blocking us leaving if leave was to win a second vote! Every brexiter has pointed out that this was blatantly the case. Every remainer, whether it be on Twitter, Facebook and also on here with you lot, have argued that a second vote would be final and if leave won we must leave. You can go on all you want but they’ve totally undermined the argument for a second vote and shut up the #FBPE muppets as far as a second vote is concerned. The worst thing is you seem to think it’s perfectly ok for these MPs to want to us keep on voting until they get the result they want.

Hague was a terrible leader. Lurched way to the right, embraced populism and failed miserably. Had a second life as foreign secretary and proved himself to be capable and witty. [Post edited 25 Jul 2019 21:45]

Multiple voter friendly pledges being made, no deal planning ramping up and the EU being blamed for refusing to negotiate despite them saying numerous times over the past year that the deal is the deal. Johnson preparing for a “vote for us and we’ll leave the EU with no deal” election and veering to the hard right to try and keep enough votes from going to Farage.

I think they’re going to attempt to call an election with the timing being such that parliament is automatically in recess over the end of October, so the Brexit party are neutralised, yet the adverse effects of no deal won’t have hit for the campaign. I’m not sure how it can be stopped, or how anyone can achieve an extension while it happens if Johnson refuses to do so.

That does have something in it though. ‘Maggie’ softened and humanised the disgusting c*nt. And Boris is an invention for Al Johnson. It did make me smile when someone reckoned he told the Queen “I can call you Betty And Betty, when you call me. You can call me Al”
