codge added 17:27 - Feb 8 Well to be honest we did not really look like scoring and have gotten used to it by now.Gone are the days when we expected to get two or three goals that a Saints team of old would of got won’t happen with this team. Can’t say anybody shone in this game looked like we were going through the motions. Sad to say after so many years a fan of Saints I have a hard time watching this anymore but as any diehard fan l will always stay loyal but it’s getting harder.COYR. StRipper added 18:19 - Feb 8 We're just unprofessional now. Plenty of chances to take this game but no one focused enough. It was painfully predictable what was going to happen. We seem to have many players doing just enough to play, but very few playing with pride, passion or care. Its clearly now recognised by the players that this season is over and they can start thinking about their moves at the end of the season. What a shit show the clubs' owners have left us with. If it wasn't for my boy going to the footy with me. I would give up Saints for a year or two to do something else more useful with the time. Bowlercow added 18:26 - Feb 8 Burnley came to spoil everything we tried in any way possible Because they were so well organised they were able to do exactly that They played in an organised way and executed their game plan We played with a 5>2>1>2 formation I think It was so shambolic at times that you couldn't see what plan we had Bednarek and Manning went forward at one time and when they won the ball back and countered we had a back 3 of Bree KWP and Wellington Bowlercow added 18:39 - Feb 8 I didn't intend to post that Our m/f was totally uncreative Poor Martinez worked his socks off but go no support at all Sulemana and Dibling very seldom got the ball without 2/3 Burnley players being within a couple of yards I only saw one clear cut chance (hit over by Manning) other than that no plan B or C Juric in his post match interview on Solent thought we played very well, created loads of chances and were unlucky to lose Sorry Ivan you are to coaching what I am to ballet dancing Anyone who believes that we are playing better under him needs to have a word with themselves At least under RM you could see what they were trying to do even when it wasn't working If Solac is true to his word and he keeps him next season will be a hard watch Bowlercow added 18:42 - Feb 8 leighsaint added 19:53 - Feb 8 Why did we have 2 right backs 2 left backs 1 centre half and no reckonised centre forward until big Paul came on as a sub SaintPaulVW added 20:01 - Feb 8 Burnley just looked to want it more. Solid defence and fast breaks. We had a few half chances but once again no one was able to make a clinical finish. Their goal was helped in by the usual disorganised chaotic defending in our box. One thing to take heart in is how the Burnley team have gone from a Premier League basket case to a highly effective unit. So, there is hope for us next season. COYR
