DPeps: " we might not have the personnel to be able to successfully do high press".

We haven't got the personnel to successfully defend either...

Didn´t Lemina play CB under Bielsa when at Marseille before he went to Juventus?
He is definetely a quick player. There could be a solution to our lack of speed in defence in a high pressing structured team.
´Have an open mind`, has RH said, repeatedly!

This was the sort of game Rs would have lost last season, and probably over the last 5 or 6 seasons. A strong physical team, bordering on dirty, grabbing an equaliser and looking for a second, but we stood up to them and could have won more convincingly if we'd put away 2 or 3 good chances. Wells was MotM, constantly running, chasing and scoring a cracking goal. Beginning to look like the signing of the season. Leistner solid at the back and Cousins looking good as cover for Cameron, ahead of Scowen.

How people have suffered this season sitting in the paddocks with the weather for QPR home games. How many are still alive.Think we need to change football to a summer sport I am sure attendances would be well up if it was a summer sport.

Agree with the first parts of Geoff but Wells missed chances so MOM for me either Freeman or Luongo who played well throughout the game.

I travelled my usual 70 miles to the game in heavy rain and heavy traffic and a heavy cold with no great optimism. Indeed, as I trudged towards the game in my Arctic weather gear I did question my judgement and sanity. However, the opening goal was a far better tonic for than a cocktail of Lemsip, Sudafed and any other potions or pills. We played well when we managed to get some passing movement, especially on the wings but I always felt that Boro were solid in midfield and central defence but I whispered to my mate in SAR with some trepidation, that I thought Boro didn't have a great attack and looked very vulnerable when we ran at them. For quite a while they did seem to be able to mop up all second balls and our possession was patchy although potentially lethal when we could get it to Nahki. I had also said that Wszolek was due a good game and he suggested that this was on although I don't think he was quite as great as some have said. Fantastic run into the box in the second half - proper wing play! I was relieved that Darnell looked fit and approaching his best and we seemed to be able to negate the Boro attack across the line. Pity that Lynch had to go off and that coincided with Darnell's weak clearance - not the first time I have wondered whether another keeper might have saved the resulting shot? We took the game to Boro after that and some breakaways looked as though we should surely score a couple more through Eze, Pav especially - but not to be. Wells' goal was class but it was astonishing how much room he had. Freeman and Luongo were able to have a far greater impact in the second half and the team performance made Boro look very ordinary. One special mention for Luongo, who won countless headers against very tall, physical opposition. Scowen looked a lot better than he has of late and I would like to see him back in the side and performing as he did last season.

Oh what difference a week makes !!

Much improved performance in terms of tempo, pace and passing.

Still get punished for our usual error or 2, but at least we didn't try to shut up shop once in front and it was good to see both teams going for the win.

Defence was much better and seemed to have more organisation and belief, but they still need someone to Marshall.

Passing was also improved, including some quick, short, intricate stuff. Targett needs work here, but as for Yoshi, I don't think he can be taught - many misplaced passes and those that found their man were pinged so hard !! I will let him off though, as despite letting Aubameyang in early on, he won lots of crucial headers at the end and helped us win the game.

Great to see lots of early balls into the box, instead of all this fannying around with it and passing it back, or waiting for the defence to get back. Well taken goals and believe it or not, I think they were our first headed goals of the season !!

No doubt the press will say Arsenal played badly, had an off day/injuries etc and some reports suggest they should have got a draw, but the reality is that we outplayed them, created the better chances and if it wasn't for a big deflection, would have won by a greater margin. Oh why do they dive so much, as soon as they lose the ball - in virtually every position !!

Lastly - Long"s offside goal. The keeper made a great save from Yoshi's header and having looked at it again, the parry goes out, hits the Arsenal defender's leg and Long pokes home - so goal in my book. Difficult to spot and not picked up on MOTD.

Excellent effort from everyone and great result for the first time since Koeman.

Just goes to show how bad those last 3 managerial choices were and what a lazy load of money-quaffing failures they all were. Oh, and Reed for choosing them in his own image.
Brilliant!
