Dixiefrog your optimism sounds reasonable re luck, in the context of 1 match. Though when you weigh it up against 6 losses out of 7. It's too much of a leap to argue we are just unlucky

It was so disappointing to see such a lack of leadership and passion on the pitch - players heads dropped and Puel was like a statue on the touchline.

Team showing weakness all over the pitch.

Les Reed has had £200m to spend and we are playing with two second rate centre-backs. Let that sink in.

Why can't the manager and staff see that the current way of playing is not working! Too slow coming out of defence with lots of sideways movement and no vision from the midfield. The last few games the forwards have been keen to make runs and expect a ball over the top but we insist on playing it side to side. It proves it works as the only decent one over the top yesterday we scored from. The players are not getting the basic of passing right and as for shooting most of them are awful. The only decent deadball player is JWP but even even put one free kick from a decent position well over the bar. I was watching them in the warm up shooting at goal and 75% of shots went over the bar. They spent most of yesterday running around like headless chickens. Something needs to change or else we are heading for the relegation zone and whilst I will enjoy going to Wembley I dread what United will do to us.

Five things we learned from Ewood Park
One) two northern games in four days not really an excuse –they stayed up, somewhere nice
Two) Darnell still has a way to go– But we should stick with him
Three) Manning and Luongo may be presenting us with a Lampard/Gerrard problem. I think.
Four) Smith on 20 minutes evidence, looks like Poulter without the aggression BUT he won every ball in the air and will certainly link well with Conor
Five) Holloway needs to read the game better; Emnes immediately swung the momentum Blackburns way bullying Darnell with little protection from Yellowcard Perch or anyone else
Six) Perch looks like he could get a red card almost every tackle (Yes, of course, we knew that already)
Seven) Bidwell looks as though he could mature into an outstanding left back
Eight) 89 mins 'Coyle Out', 90 mins 'Owen Coyle's Blue and White army'
Nine) we learned nothing from brief and super-brief appearances from Ravel and Kazenga respectively - except that perhaps they should of come on earlier
10) England were poor but still beat France
11) the Bournemouth supporters at Norton Canes
services were more fed up than I was

11 things we learned… Okay, I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition…

Two things left relegation and cup final damage limitation
We are now in real trouble 6 games against top 6 and that just leaves us 8 games of we need at least 4 wins
Even my happy capper pro puel mates are now starting to turn
Puel has to go as he is out of his depth but more so reed head of recruitment what a joke
Needed a striker in the summer and he waited to January and needed a centre back and because teams added a couple of million on as they knew we were desperate, reed dug his heels in and said no. Does the idiot not know relegation will cost us more should of swallowed that bitter pill. A couple of centre backs wage demands were high but there were more targets out there and the black box to fall back on.

Horrible game - lots of huff and puff (you certainly couldn't accuse anyone of not trying) but no cohesive movement. Too often the midfield passed it forward to a man surrounded by Hammers and he duly got hammered and lost possession. Then it became a hoofing exercise but with no height up front, we are never going to win that game. Yes West Ham got lucky, especially with the third goal, never a free-kick in my opinion. But once it was given, just looking at the way the defending it was set up, I was certain they'd score. I've never been a so-called happy clapper but neither have I been thinking Puel should go but I'm not so sure he has the dressing room any more. We looked rudderless.
One bright spot was Gabbiadini - great opening goal with hard work and movement throughout the game - just no decent service.
My biggest worry is Forster - his form has been poor all season and his confidence looks shot to bits. Could have made it more difficult for Carroll with the first goal, should have stopped the second and didn't look like he knew what he wanted at the free-kick for the third.
As for Reed, maybe we should have worked harder to get a CB in January (although few were saying that after their heroics at Liverpool in the EFL semi) but one disappointing transfer window doesn't suddenly make him and his team fools and under him we've had years of improvement and great progress. You could just as easily blame that dirty bastard Jamie Vardy for our CB troubles.
