Team playing well, but no spirit, we have no warriors! As a nation Britain is famed for it's warriors, more British players Ron, use the academy boys, they may not be the best, but they will battle for club and country. JWP needs to get tough too, very lightweight.

I honestly believe that is what has happened in the squad, over the last two seasons we have shipped too many British players and the dressing room must seem like a very polite UN conference, even Jose seems to have lost his fighting spirit.

As a footnote it seems I yet again watched a different game, for me Clasie had his best game and showed his potential. My favourite VW misses Morgan so much, he can't do it by himself, Dembale bossed him all game.

Overall we were bad, the first and second ball was atrocious all game, we're giving the ball away far too easily. Yet we did start off fighting fire with fire.

Does anyone else want to slap Pelle's quiff every time he runs to the ref and complains in the very dramatic Italian style, as for Tadic, grow some balls!

Bristol shaded first half, we shaded second. Missed the three injured players. Green early mistake with ball control but afterwards very good. Hoilet has come into form, very unlucky not to win the game for us with the shot that hit the bar at 1-0. Only defeat in seven was in the last minute to the league leaders away, so a work in progress but definitely more solid and moving in the right direction.

RK infers he'll make changes but hasn't the quality to choose from, certainly not front of midfield where I think the problem lies. Pitching youngsters into the current mess would be a bit unfair on them and smacks of desperation. FFS open that window!

We were dreadful in the first half, slightly better in second but I thought it looked like 2 poor teams struggling in difficult conditions. Draw probably a fair result but will need to play far better than this if we are to reach the Play-offs.

Polter wasted his rare opportunity to start, didn't offer much at all up front, but then again the crossing was almost non-existent or very poor when we did have the chance to swing one in. I would have liked to have seen JET start against his old club, they were singing his name before kick off, obviously very highly though of down there. Faurlin had one of those matches where he couldn't keep the ball on the pitch.
The highlight of the second half was two older gents dressed as Santas in the Bristol City end to our left having a row with a chap in front of them, ended up with all 3 getting escorted out, the spirit of Christmas alive and well, beautiful.

Last week I suggested Koeman had 4 matches to turn things around as all four looked to be likely defeats. Surely after what happened to Mourinho he'll be out on his ear if he has a run of 9 games with only one draw?

Cortese would already have sacked him one suspects so does Les have the balls too take tough decisions? I think he might, Ron's confident posture has all but evaporated so words have obviously been exchanged and of course this transfers to the players if he shows that he doesn't have much confidence in them.

Having watched the game and the style of Pochettino's Spurs (akin to saints last year), one is bound to ask if last season was a success only because of a Pochettino coaching legacy effect that has now worn off so we're back basically to what Ron and his gang have been able to do which on current evidence is not very much. I'll wager there are quite a few fans asking the same question as Spurs looked miles better than us without any stand out players.

Pretty grim to watch at times. Nice to see us playing more as a team than as individuals as well as showing plenty of fight (in more ways than one!!!)
Linesman over at the East was more suited to running the line at Subbuteo matches. East was as much use as a return ticket on the Titanic.

Never mind. We got the 3 points.
Hopefully we can now restart our season and pull away from the relegation zone.
Our players are good enough as individuals to keep us up and providing we keep playing as a team, like we have for the last 3 games, we will.

Yes yes yes.
Great performances out there tonight. Special mentions for Clasie and Martina, who have got some stick on this site (including from me).
We're a real confidence team and hopefully tonight was a turning point.
Anybody want to sell VW now?

Wanyama and Fonte, were immense tonight. They pulled the rest of the team up to their standards. That was a superb performance from our 2 team leaders. 10/10, for them both, not only for their own perfect displays, but for the influence they had on the whole team.

Martina's goal was definitely insane, Arsenal were very poor ,as was the ref and linesman I thought Arsenal had brought the officials with them, in the end you look at the starting line up and we weren't as fragile as you would think, bringing Romeu on was very good and I'm not surprised Wanyama came out off his shell for this one, it's also priceless seeing the faces of all those player's that thought they were too good for the mighty Saints ha ha , all in all it was Martina's day and I suppose Shane Long but a good team performance that worked very hard for each other that was what won us the game coyr
