Compensation Fee For Sheffield Wednesday Manager Danny Rohl Revealed Monday, 17th Mar 2025 14:16 If Danny Rohl is the number one target for Southampton FC in the summer to replace Ivan Juric, then they are going to have to pay compensation to the Owls, it hs now been revealed just how much that Saints will have to pay. According to footballleagueworld.co.uk Southampton are going to have to fork out if they want Danny Rohl from Sheffield Wednesday. He was touted for the job at St Mary's back in December but it was claimed that the level of compensation put Saints off. That was said to be £4 million if a Premier League club came in for him, but with Saints heading to the Championship, that allegedly reducing to only £2 million. However it is likely to be deja vu for Southampton, the report also says that Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri will wrangle over the actual date of when Southampton's Championship status is official before the clause is triggered. That is what happened when Saints took Russell Martin from Swansea City, back then Saints approached Swansea once the season was over in early June, but the Swans claimed that Southampton didn't officially leave the Premier League until the AGM in early July, so where therefore a Premier League club when they made the approach. If this happens again it is not something to worry too much about, firstly if Rohl did arrive in June, all the players are on holiday, there is no one really to manage, secondly it would be naïve to think that if Rohl had agreed a deal but was waiting till July, that he would not be speaking to Johann Spors about the plans for the upcoming season during June, if not earlier.
