With the transfer window heading for the final 24 hours, the rumours are flying thick and fast and the latest one out of that there London, is that Saints will be using up their final Premier League loan allowance by shopping at the London Stadium.

insidefutbol.com are quoting the Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the next outfield player to arrive at St Mary's will be West Ham winger Maxwell Cornet.

The 27 year old who is primarily a left winger but can also play on the other wing or through the centre and he has fallen out of favour at the Hammers.

After impressing at Metz he joined Burnley in 2021, although Burnley were relegated he ended up as top scorer with 9 goals in 26 appearances.

In August 2022, he signed for West Ham, but he would play just 14 games in his first season and last season he played only 7, but did score a goal.

Now it seems that he could be joining Saints on loan.
