Saints TV Fixture Changes Confirmed For August & September Tuesday, 5th Jul 2022 20:51 Saints fans can't complain too much about not playing on a Saturday afternoon for the opening couple of months of the season after the schedule for TV games was announced. Saints have only had three changes to the original Premier League schedule for August & September and one of those is a midweek change. The first change is for the visit of Manchester United to St Mary's on 27th August, that will now kick off a little earlier on the Saturday afternoon with a 12.30pm start and the game will be screened by BT Sports. Three days later and Saints will again be at home this time to Chelsea on Tuesday 30th August with a 7.45pm kick off, this game was originally scheduled for a day after the new date, on the Wednesday evening, this will also be screened by BT sports. The final change of the first two months of the season will be the trip to Aston Villa, instead of Saturday 16th September, this will now be the day before on Friday 16th September with an 8pm kick off and the game broadcast by Sky Sports. So in the first raft of fixtures Saints have got away very lightly , of the 7 Saturday fixtures in the opening two months, 5 will be played at 3pm on Saturday and of the other two one is only a slight change to the lunchtime kick off, only the trip to Villa Park, always a popular game for Saints fans will be really affected, with the Friday night game making it impossible to get there and back by rail on the same evening.
