It was a bad season for Saints but the bookies don't think that Saints will be relegated next year according to the early odds for next season.

As you would expect the Big Six are far ahead of the rest when it comes to avoiding relegation with anywhere between 5000/1 and 250/1 being offered if you fancy one of them to go down and the after that Everton on 33/1 are the only team not in the rest of the pack, then it is Leicester at 14/1 to go down according to the bookies.

Next up is Saints who at 7/1 to be relegated are effectively the 12th least likely team to be in the bottom three at the end of the season, West Ham arent too far away from us and as you hit 5/1 you start to hit sides like Wolves, Newcastle, Palace and Bournemouth with the biggest surprise being Burnley who at 4/1 are tipped to struggl with a small squad being unable to cope with the addition of Europa League games.

The bookies see it as a straight fight between five sides, Fulham and Cardiff join Huddersfield as the three the bookies think will go down, with Brighton and Watford just behind them.

The bookmakers don't get too much wrong and it seems that they think we have had a blip and we have the quality to come back stronger in the coming season.

underweststand added 09:04 - Jun 12 I guess that City and United feel pretty safe, but as for the rest...Chelsea haven't sacked Conte - YET...and Emery may find that Wenger is a hard act to follow, recalling the crisis that followed Ferguson's departure from Man U. Everton seem to be on the edge of the precipice, and will either qualify for CL, or implode and end up in the drop zone . The likes of Burnley and Leicester (especially if they sack Puel) may just have had " a good season " and will "revert to type" in bottom half. It may well be that a couple of the newcomers won't " make the cut" in which case the likes of Brighton and Huddersfield may survive for yet another season. I think Cardiff and even Fulham may struggle. Saints (?)..if Hughes can turn it around...perhaps 8th again ..at best...or a Cup this time.

Chelsea will make top 4 Everton will make top 7 along with Spurs who drop out of the top 4 after Kane gets injured scoring the winner in the WC final. So yeah just a blip last season
