Saints fans have been warmly applauded by Wealdstone FC for their behaviour at the Club's ground before and after the FA Cup semi final on Sunday.

Two weeks ago I did a story on behalf of Wealdstone FC who were inviting Saints supporters to park for free and use their club house for pre match drinks ahead of the FA Cup semi final against Chelsea.

This is something that Wealdstone do for one of the club's involved in all big games at Wembley and indeed it was also Saints supporters there a year ago when we took on Manchester United in the League Cup final.

Wealdstone have now contacted me and asked if i could do a piece so that they can express their gratitude to the 500 or so Saints supporters who visited them on Sunday, not only for the patronage and spending money at their ground that will go towards helping a non league club with a proud tradition flourish, but also for the exemplary and friendly behaviour.

James Klarfeld of Wealdstone FC said

" Could you please thank all the Saints fans who came to Wealdstone FC on Sunday, not only for their exemplary behaviour, but also for their appreciative and friendly attitude.

We had so many kind comments from them on the day thanking us for letting them use our facilities as well as compliments on our club itself.

They were a credit to Southampton FC and would be most welcomed back in the future"

It was also good to contribute something to the coffers of a grass roots club. I hope we get the chance again and would encourage anyone to use their facilities.

We don’t regard it as a money making enterprise, rather something that we have loved, love now and will still love in the distant future when they (the board) are just a nasty nightmare from the past.

LoisDeem added 09:01 - Apr 30 I am contacting Wealdstone to thank them, brilliant hosts, some of our carload of seven actually had this as 'highlight of the day'. Obviously queues for good value (in London!)bacon baps, burgers and hot dogs, and ample bars and staff allowed the beer to flow. The Saints Fans impromptu under 11's game was a sporting highlight too! Happy Days!
