Saints Have Worst Shot Conversion Rate In The Premier League Friday, 23rd Sep 2016 14:15 It has been revealed that Saints have worst ratio of goals scored against shots taken in the entire Premier league. This statistic will perhaps not come as a surprise for Saints fans, but the team has the worst ratio of goals scored against shots taken, the stats which do not take into account penalties reveal that Saints have had 25 shots on target and 31 off target in a total of 56 efforts in total. That is an impressive total being bettered only by Manchester City with 65 and Everton withone more than us on 57, but the worrying stat is that we have only converted 4 of them into goals, 7.1% being the percentage rate. The Premier League average is over double that with 15.3% with surprisingly Arsenal & Watford topping the table with 24% & 23.8% respectively. So this is a stat that Saints need to change, as can be worked out creating chances is not the problem, getting into scoring positions is not the problem, burying the ball in the back of the net is. The good news is that with Charlie Austin hitting form and three straight wins under our belts, surely we now have the confidence to step up a gear and re address the balance.
