Lavery Linked With Spurs Wednesday, 4th May 2011 08:59 by TWTD.co.uk Academy striker Caolan Lavery has become a £500,000 target of Tottenham in the wake of his goal in the 2-1 U18s defeat to the Londoners at Playford Road on Saturday, according to one of this morning's tabloids. Lavery, who switched allegiance from Canada to Northern Ireland this season and has subsequently played for their U19s and U21s, is yet to be offered a professional deal with the Blues with his second-year academy scholarship having been extended until October after he missed three months of the season with a knee injury. It’s highly unlikely that Spurs would have been first alerted to Lavery’s abilities by his weekend performance as claimed, with former Town coach Bryan Klug the Premier League club's assistant academy manager and head of player development. TWTD reported last month that Leicester City were monitoring the former Canada U17 international’s situation.
