too many sofa fans WR...games available to watch from thr comfort of your front room. I also know of several Ospreys fans disillusioned with the way pro rugby is.....silly kick off times ..hanging about waiting for the tmo to make decisions.....coupled with people's economics. Also and it's my personal opinion "kids" today have a different interest they would rather be on Xbox,PS whatever PC or tablet as a result there are fewer young fans coming through |

yet Cooper was only a youth team manager, Martinez , Toshack no experience as a manager. |

Why are we debating events from the past.....those involved have moved on the coach at the time chief executive and the majority owners. Mistakes were made all round have we learnt from those mistakes? I'm more concerned about the here and now Are we going to sign any players this window are we sacking the manager? Hindsight is a wonderful thing and debating the rights and wrongs and again trying to defend a certain manager is futile.... |
| Forum Thread | Fans and a club in limbo...yet another SCFC January at 10:14 23 Jan 2025
Here we are halfway or so through the transfer window and not a single signing yet again more outgoings. For the third January in a row we are in some sort of limbo... Martin was "denied" players 2 years ago and last January we were just appointing yet another manager but did see a couple of signings....Ronald though 1 year on has still to achieve any level of consistency. And now we as fans sit and wait will they won't they sack Williams, will they won't they sign players It's time for action.....we have only one recognised CB currently available for Saturday....something needs to be done and also not a panic buy If Williams is a dead man walking them sack him and get on . It's amazing we as fans demanded Kaplan and Levian out....are things any better? Some demanded Martin then Duff out .....are we any better? And now the calls are for Williams out......the question remains will we be any better? |

got us closer to the PL than any other recent manager.... Given his only other experience was at youth level he stepped up well. Whereas despite all his successors previous EFL experience they couldn't cut it here. Makes you wonder is it the environment at the club? Look at last years failure Duff currently has Huddersfield riding high in LG 1 currently playoff contenders having recently beaten high flying Wycombe away from home. Why is is managers such as Duff and Williams whi were fairly successful at their previous clubs "fail" here? [Post edited 23 Jan 10:15]

He is on his way I would think.... let's hope Plymouth get a good fee more cash for us |

in fairness he gave it a good go last night....but for a dodgy ref we should have had a result. Denied a penalty when Norrington Davies fouled Peart Harris in the box whilst he was already on a yellow meaning he would then have been sent off and Sheffield 2 nil down and down to 10 men at half time. Wilder made 3 subs one enforced as he knew he had to sub Davies as Peart Harris was giving him a torrid time and he was lucky to be still on the pitch. The sending off of Darling exposes our thin squad and so makes things difficult for Norwich . Despite being down to 10 men we made a decent effort and the only other goal scored was a penalty. I have said elsewhere on here I couldn't understand the wisdom of putting Key at CB where he has never played and Naughton at RB but I also witnessed a lengthy pitch side discussion between Williams Hartley and Sheehan before the change was made . I also recognise that had the football gods been smiling on us last night that would it no way mean it would have been a given of a good performance at Norwich given our inconsistent patterns . I was at the QPR ,Luton Portsmouth and West Brom games all totally different and who would have thought we would have played as poorly as we did at Portsmouth following the QPR and Luton games |

Given our centre back situation I would suspect the odds of losing at Norwich are fairly short.... Of course that is Williams fault as well. If it's going to happen let's getting it done get the replacement in and move on |

Is there any news on the uptake of season ticket renewals? |

Don't disagree with that I used to argue that about a previous coach we had who his supporters kept saying he needed time didn't have the players etc. It currently seems the knives are out for the current coach.... I don't see that article as Williams completely blaming the pitch or using it as an excuse. But other opinions are available |

But was he complaining? Was he simply asking questions about the pitch because as Builth says it looked really bad last night Journalists can write things with a bias. None of of us were present so it can be easy to have various interpretations.... I may he wrong but I bet it was just that asked about the pitch...he offers an opinion on its state and why it maybe as it is Williams believes the current issues may be partly down to the fact that the surface is simply "getting older". "The artificial stuff that is woven into the pitch has a lifespan," he said. "Once you kick that stuff out, no matter how much sunshine or ultraviolet light or watering you give it, artificial grass doesn't grow back." Williams says the problems do not help a Swansea side who are renowned for playing a possession game, which requires a quality surface. "It makes it tougher, the way we want to play, in particular," he added. I don't think he was blaming the pitch for our stayed of play or using it as an excuse just answering the press |

there is an article on BBC website where Williams is quoted as saying they will be looking at appealing |

that's a question I guess only Williams can answer Is he handcuffed fiscally? Are there payment issues when acadamy players promoted to matchday squad? Is he just obstinate? Do the sites sources at the club have an insight? |
