| News Comment | Southampton Sack Nathan Jones at 10:52:44
Whether he was a decent man or not, he was an awful manager! We sacked Ralph who again was a decent man but his time was up. Results are what keep you in your job and both of them failed miserably this season. The football we have been provided with at St Marys is boring, uninspiring, frustrating and to be honest not worth watching! I will not shed any tears over Nathan going and no one else should either. For 3 months work he is going to receive a massive amount of money which is more than the vast majority of people will never earn in multiple lifetimes. SR have failed us massively in his appointment. We had a lot more time to sit back and decide but they didn't. I hope they have been doing this in the background this time. But let us not just blame the manager here. Our team have it in them to play and play well but seem happy to fail again and again at home with bad performances and mistake after mistake. They should all acknowledge this and play with proper passion for the team, club & supporters. |
| News Comment | Southampton V Manchester City The FA Cup Preview at 11:07:10
Regardless of the result all I ask is the team play with passion and not give up. We have lost the Northam support once again for a cup match and this drop in vocal support will make this game seem like an away match as I am sure the Citeh support will be loud. After 20 years, why don't the club allow all the supporters in the Northam the ability to sit together in another part of the ground so we can still retain this support. Everyone else has not had to worry about this for 20 years so maybe it is someone else's turn to not automatically get their seat. Thoughts anyone? |
| News Comment | Alex Jankewitz Leaves Southampton To Join BSC Young Boys at 11:41:52
Well good luck to him and if he is a success at his new club I do hope that we have got a good sell on clause in the contract. This was on the cards even before his sending off. His salary may not be that high but another one off the books! |
| News Comment | Saints At Manchester United The Verdict at 10:34:01
First goal Man Utd scored we could have done better with but the second goal you could also say was from a striker in a very rich vein of form and hit the ball perfectly. Every team has mistakes at the back it just seems that we get punished more than others. That being said the spirit in the side and how they are playing is great to see and I hope this can continue into next season. |
| News Comment | Hoedt And Cedric Could Be In Ralph's Plans at 09:34:11
We all have our own views on players but Ralph will make the decisions he feels is right for the club. If this means that Hoedt is given a chance then he obviously sees something there. Unfortunately for Hoedt, when he was signed, the management was awful and was paired with Van Dijk for a while who wanted out. Perhaps a more stable management team will help him and Cedric and get the best out of them. |
| News Comment | Saints At Fulham The Verdict at 11:24:31
This is my first post on this website after just reading it for such a long time. You are right about leadership on and off the pitch and the board must act before it is too late. I feel PEH should retain the captain's armband as he is far more vocal than Ryan and that is very important in a game and to keep their resolve & concentration. Armstong should get a run in the side after his performance but Hoedt needs to be dropped. Please stop defending him and suggesting he it the future as it is obvious that he is not...….yet. Do you honestly think that Maya & Cedric were going to anticipate that he would make the error for that 3rd goal? He should clear his lines by getting the ball up the park as his confidence does not allow him to play out of defence & that is what they were expecting. if they are always expecting the worse from him then that in itself will add to the pressure. He has played every minute this season but needs time out of the team & this should have been done a while ago & this again is down to Hughes. |
