Corny Joke Warning
at 19:27 30 Sep 2024

Stretching the topic but for fans of Top Cat or (boss cat)

Spook : Man, ain't this heat a gas?

Top Cat : Where were you?

Spook : Like, I was making the public library scene.

Top Cat : *You* were reading a book?

Spook : Well, like, I was faking it, but this book is so far out, I got hooked. What a crazy, mixed-up story.

Choo Choo : What was it about, Spook?

Spook : Well, it starts out about an aardvark and ends up with everybody playing the xylophone.

Top Cat : What's it called?

Spook : Under a Bridge with Dick and Harry.

Top Cat : Under a Bridge with Dick and Harry? Let me see that.

[looks at the book]

Top Cat : That's "Unabridged Dictionary"! What's the matter with you? That's nothing but words!

Spook : Oh, I thought it was kinda freeform

QPR in the 1950s
at 22:27 28 Feb 2024

I first went to QPR in the mid 50's.
Remember most of that already mentioned.
I have strong memories of wiping the rust off my shoulders every time the ball landed on top of the Ellerslie Road stand. None of this playing out from the back malarkey then.
I also found it amusing that the team were described in the match programme as playing in knickers.

Clearly there needs to be compensation paid to the victims of this. What happened to the “stolen money’ if there was no theft ? The possible explanation is offered in the story. It was put into a holding account and written back as profits. In this case both Fujitsu and Post Office need to reveal if this was the case and who got those profits. This will have provided, in all probability, bonuses for Executives of either or both companies. These bonuses should be repaid and also any funds from the holding account.
The easy solution for the politicians is to pay compensation from taxpayers funds. The punishment must fit the crime and both corporations and executives should repay all benefits they derived from their behaviour.

Pele moved to end of life care

This actually confirms that in play and especially when wet they were heavier. In the ref’s hand before the game not heavier. Misleading headline.
I loved watching Pele and best of all time comparisons are pointless.
Only reason to compare is so that current headlines can be as sensational as possible. Media trolling I think.

Most complete QPR performance you've ever seen?
at 14:54 24 Nov 2022

Our first European competition and Cologne were a great team. I couldn't believe how well we played to get a 3-0 home win. Lost 4-1 in the return leg and went through on away goals.

This after following QPR for 20 years tstarting with the 3rd Division South .

Wage caps seeks parity in limiting salary costs for all clubs in the league.
FFP allows clubs to spend in line with their resources which may be different for each club.
It could be argued that wage caps are anti-competitive whereas FFP is not as long as the rules are adhered to of course.

Greatest band/artist you’ve seen play live…
at 22:17 12 Oct 2021

The High Numbers at the Oldfield or The Who at the Goldhawk would take some beating.
Motown covers at the first and he start of something big at the second.

Small venues packed crowds trying to dance without starting a fight.
