Comments on social media that sports republic weren’t interested in us getting promoted & were about draining money from the club have been put to bed.
The boring analogy comparing Russel Martin with Nathan jones & a🤡 have also gone quiet.
Saints brand of football being tippy happy & negative, we may have started off slowly but it can’t be used to describe us now..
Are we good enough if we get promoted? Probably not, the difference between the two leagues is getting bigger ( look at Burnley) but we can only deal with that a progress if we get there |

Just watched there ‘ goal ‘ again in detail after reading the comments.The player who received the ball on the wing wasn’t offside.Central defender clearly in front of him when the ball is played.

I think you’re are correct that our team would struggle in the premier league but just take a look at the three teams promoted last year! Burnley. Walked away with the league & yet are really struggling to adapt.
I think we have to concentrate on this league now , grow as a team & a club & concern over next season when we know where we are.

I think you’re wrong on the subs in the Blackburn game .Ipswich have developed there lead in less than half the season s o they can be caught in the second half of the season & with that will come the goal difference.You keep saying it’s a marathon not a sprint & a war of attrition, so with that in mind the squad has to be rotated & utilised, when is JS going to get game time ? He’s surely going to be needed as injuries & suspensions occur. |

Personally I don’t believe that SR wanted us to be relegated, look at how much they spent in January trying to avoid relegation.Misguided spending most definitely & I also believe if Ralph was given those funds in January he would if done a far better job than NJ & RS.
As you say nick we can’t change the past so I feel we should build around Bazuna , livramento, Alcaraz , smallbone, tella , edozie & so on .If certain players want to leave then surely we must achieve absolute top dollar for them, then use these funds wisely unlike January. |

I thought it was our best performance since the Man City fane & there were signs of us playing at our best when under Ralph.My first instinct watching with live game nerves was a draw was about right but having watched motd we had by far the more chances. The whole team played well, Lavia was outstanding & there were glimpses of sulemana being a good threat ( not convinced about tall Paul).
Against Chelsea & Leicester I felt we ride our luck but yesterday we played with identity, let’s hope it’s not a false dawn |

Perhaps Selles is one of those lucky managers, for me this game was similar to the Chelsea win . It could easily have been 4-2 against but we fought really well , played & defended for the manager.In my opinion Bazunu should be rested, I’m sure he’ll be a great keeper but he’s not pl ready and WC could steady nerves.Apart from the big errors yesterday let’s not forget last week’s against Leeds & Brighton.
Let’s hope this win breeds some confidence but it might not be a good time to go to OT |

A few points
Nick , the Everton defender did start to move back towards the goal on the free kick but it was a half hearted effort.
I like most thought we were doomed after the forest game but what a turnaround. The palace game was one of those where things just went our way but sometimes you need that .Man City was a revelation & proud of our team.
Everton was50/50 great character & spirit but could have gone either way & personally I felt we were better against Fulham.
There’s a long way to go but we go into it with pride & spirit |

Personally I didn’t want Ralph sacked but understand why he had to go with the expression’ be careful what you wish for’ ringing alarm bells when others said he was clueless.With the decision made you have to move on and give the new man a chance.Now I’m very much the optimist but last night was shocking.Che Adams looked like he’s not interested & the whole team had no structure or strategy , lump it forward and Hope for the best.

A couple of points here
substitutions are massive in today’s football, hence five are now allowed and particularly with the way saints play.
Secondly there’s no accounting for che’s miss & you certainly can’t judge the manager on that .
On a personal opinion I don’t think Adam Armstrong is quite good enough at the top level,of course he puts in a massive effort but for me he makes to many wrong decisions at crucial times |

I don’t believe we just switched off for the goals,in the first half Patrick Hanford had a carbon copy situation of there first goal but misse the target & they also worked the same corner in the first half , which resulted in a weak header they should have scored from.with that in mind I felt we were very naive.I do agree we will get better with massive positives from Bella kotchap, lavia, bazuna, aribo & Mara ( apologies for any spellings it’s late )
Thought che looked off the pace & a little disinterested but really believe the new youngsters can build something |

Excellent team performance, brushed the toffees to one side & looked like we still had another gear.Romeu & jwp were so dominant but that almost is expected as the norm these days.
Only fault would be we could of scored a couple more .
One point on broja, of course we want him and he is so powerfully quick over those first few yards but he really does have to learn that it’s impossible to score all the time . Therefore settling up his teammates is a much better option when he’s drawn the keeper out but created an impossible angle.This is being very critical but it happens every game |
