I turned on quite a few of them last night. The main culprits were Chair and Celar. Both of them guilty of failing to do the basics of closing down a man. No point playing a press if two players aren't going to join in. I lost it at one point when Celar look at the long ball coming in his direction and decided not to even bother jumping. Sure he probably wouldn't have won the header but he just looked at it and kept both feet very much on the ground. He's a weakling and I can't see him thriving in this league. Compare that to Saito who is our smallest player but he put himself about as much as anyone yesterday. I'd start him ahead of Dembele at the moment. |

It was a great moment. Reminds you that there's so much more to life than football. Players and managers come and go but the fans share a bond that is special and they always show up for each other when someone needs support. Barney, did us all proud on Saturday. An inspirational young man. |

I'd love to play alongside someone who demands so much from themselves and those around him. He's not the manager, he's the captain. It's his job more than Marti's to call out lack of standards, effort and quality. Marti can't publicly say what Cook can but I'm sure they're on the same page. |

Admittedly the view in upper loft is better than where I am in the lower loft but it looks to me like he takes up positions where he's not quite close enough to put in a tackle and not quite in enough space to receive the ball. Maybe that's hiding or maybe that's just not being very good. I don't know, I've never played centre mid in a a game of professional football. I imagine it's bloody hard work to make an impression on the game. That's why CMs are usually the best all round players on the pitch. Hopefully he can get better at being in the right place at the right time. |

Varane surely starts on Tuesday. He's also been poor but should give us a bit more physicality in the middle of the pitch. |

Reasonable response from Marti there. He's a good man and I'm not sure we'd necessarily attract anyone better given the materials they'd be asked to work with. We know he doesn't make the signings. He can only work with what he's got which at the moment has some significant limitations. JCS back in on Tuesday surely. Also expect Varane to start ahead of Madsen. I like Saito and hope he starts on Tuesday. Maybe alongside Chair and Dembele. Admittedly a very small trio but if they can strike up an understanding they could spark our season into life. |

Yep. It was alarming how bad we were when they've had two weeks to prepare to play the only team in the league who might actually be worse than us on current form. Watching the warm up, the intensity looked good. Some nice finishing and pacey drills. Aside from the opening 10 minutes of the second half we showed almost no intensity throughout the whole game. |

He does seem to be an awful signing. Just googled it and suggestions are we paid 2 million for him. I think we're a weaker squad than we were at the back end of last season. Hayden and Willock both significantly improve this team. Even Armstrong off the bench might cause some chaos (Smyth was total garbage today). This lot just look totally lost and like they're really not enjoying their football. Look at the staring 11 v Birmingham when Dunne scored his wonder goal. That's a better team than what we've got at the moment apart from Begovic.
Marti is going to have to rethink the tactics. Fox cost us the game today but we also didn't have a single player who stood out. Neither did Portsmouth yet we managed to basically gift them the game. I'm just hoping that Chair can get going again and rescue us. [Post edited 19 Oct 18:26]

We were a bit unlucky but we were also the architects of our own downfall. Madsen looked great when we were popping it about in the first 20 minutes. Disappeared a bit after we went a goal down. I was flabbergasted that a man of his height either chose to or was told not to go into the box for corners. Madness |

There are some big problems with this side. I said a few weeks back it looked like missing out on Hayden would really cost us and I stand by that.
Either our full backs are not very good (I've never been Paal's biggest fan) or our system leaves our full backs over exposed. The amount of crosses into our box that we concede is terrifying and builds the pressure which eventually leads to mistakes and us conceding goals.
Get JCS, Colback, and Chair back in the team and Jimmy Dunne back to right back and we might just about be okay. Stick with Andersen, Madsen and Santos and we could be in real trouble.
Shout out to Saito who I think looks a great little player and could easily have had two goals tonight. He'll chip in with some goals and assists this year. |

The warning signs were there in the pre season game against Spurs. Yes I know it was against a premier league side, but he looked so off the pace. If he's not carrying a knock then it looks like his legs have gone. |

We've played a reasonable cross section of the championship. We're difficult to beat but also a bit difficult to watch at the moment. Depends if you're a glass half full or glass half empty person. I think we'll improve especially once Chair comes back into the team. A good start would be to play Dembele through the middle. I Kolli hasn't been ostracised I wouldn't mind seeing a bit from him if he's injury free. |

I think we're playing badly at the moment but still picking up points which in a way is a good sign. I trust the coaches to get things to click at some point and I think we'll start picking up more wins. |

I think it's a shame we tried and failed to get Hayden. We'd be stronger with him. New signings a touch too soft right now for the cut and thrust of championship football. I keep saying it but we'll also be a hell of a lot more threatening once we have Chair back. He's still our best player. |

We're a bit lost without Chair. Andersen was a shambles in the 10 today. Dembele should really be playing there with Saito and Smyth/Lloyd either side. It wasn't an awful performance but it wasn't great. I can see they're trying to do the whole Trent thing with Paal pushing in to CM but it leaves me a bit uneasy as we're then vulnerable down that side. JCS passing was a bit rusty today. Put it down to a week or two off. Frey motm for me. Took his goal well and some decent hold up play. |

Maybe because he kept passing it to Palace players. I've not seen anything in the last couple of games he's played to suggest he has a future at Loftus Road beyond this season. Not particularly quick, not particularly strong and not particularly good on the ball. I suspect his level is one or two leagues below the championship. |
