Agree entirely, but I think we stopped them predominantly in the midfield with the back three just needing the mop up anything that got through. He did do very well going forwards, but I think that the freedom to do so was 'purchased' so to speak by Scowen, Luongo and Freeman in front of him. Don't get me wrong, I thought he was excellent, and looks a bargain. Just not MoM for me as he wasn't properly tested today. |

Played very well, but in the context of how poor Ipswich were going forward (which also gave him more space moving forward), I would go for Luongo or Freeman. Lovely to be able to debate it as there are so many choices. Great to have the team performance above all the individual ones too. |

Just on my way back from the game. Best I've seen us play in ages, and scoreline was very generous to Ipswich, who I thought were extremely poor. Anyone who can't see the value in Luongo is mad. Really did deserve the goal he came painfully close to scoring on multiple occasions. Interplay between Massimo, Freeman, Pawel and Scowen is a joy. Freeman goal also brilliant but that is less of a surprise. Mackie finish excellent and both he and Washington work extremely hard. New chap unlucky not to score which was a shame! Also thought we looked solid at the back but hardly tested so wouldn't judge against this lot. The only came alive in stoppage time. |

My favourite quote of the day so far, from (who else on deadline day?) a Sky Sports News presenter: "This won't cheer the mood among Arsenal fans..they're one of only 5 clubs in profit this transfer window." Reassuring to know that football is now so f*cked up, it's the only industry in the world that celebrates deficit and debt. |

Well that was quick. "it’s signings like this that excite me these days." Couldn't agree more. Amazing how much the adventure of QPR over the last 5 years has changed my perceptions of football. |

I also think Rahul is very good. Quite insightful, and in a different way from others. Suspect some on here can't look past the accent, which is their loss. Finney - you're clearly a man with a big heart, which is fantastic. Enjoy your contributions when you're on the panel...unless Washington is on and you get overly excited about Northern Ireland ;-) |

I post on Not606 normally, but read this site frequently. Thought I would log in to add that when I was working in the HoC a few years ago, I read this book, and Alan Johnson worked in the same building as me, so I would frequently see him. When I finished the book, I told him that I loved the QPR bits, and he was absolutely effusive about QPR. From then on, he would stop me whenever he saw me to ask how we played in our most recent games, and to chat about transfers etc. He was probably the nicest MP I got to know in the place! |
