Churlish and nit-picking I know, given the quality of the interview - but I'm just going to leave this here... |

Dear Mr Hoos, I know these things are often confidential, but how much did we pay Coventry to take Todd Kane? |

I love a bit of Schadenfreude me... From Derbyshire Live today: ----------------------------- The details of Derby County's transfer embargo have been updated. On the English Football League (EFL) website, 'regulation 51.2.3' has been added as a fifth reason why Wayne Rooney's side are being monitored by the League. The Rams were prevented from signing players from other clubs, unless they were on loan, during the summer transfer window. Derby have been allowed to register just 23 players and they reached that limit before the Sheffield United game in the Carabao Cup last month forcing Rooney to name Marko Borkovic, a scholar, in the matchday squad to beef up the numbers. Scholars do not count toward the number of players of 'professional standing' which has hampered Derby all window. The Rams signed Phil Jagielka, Sam Baldock, Ravel Morrison, Richard Stearman and Ryan Allsopp this summer, all free agents. They were only allowed to pay players a maximum of £4,500 per week and the embargo was placed on them in the summer, according to the EFL, for the following reasons: Regulation 16.2 - Failure to provide audited annual accounts Regulation 16.3 - Annual Accounts not filed with Companies House Regulation 17 - Default in payments to HMRC Profit and Sustainability Rules - non-submission of audited accounts Regulation 51.2.3 - Default in paying transfer fee instalments. The latter regulation was removed in July but appeared back on the EFL's embargo reporting service on Thursday morning. Derby were cleared of breaking financial fair play rules last year but the EFL appealed and a new ruling was made in their favour. The Rams were accused of breaking FFP rules in regards to the amortisation of a player's contract. ------------------ |

Dykes on the bench for Scotland tonight. Got to be grateful for any rest he can get over their 3 qualifying games! |

I think Dykes will definitely be involved - Scotland only have 16 outfield players fit! What's more, he'll probably come back to us knackered as he has done before - Scotland play 3 games in 6 days starting this evening! But at least we have Gray as backup now. |

Working today, didn't see the game. But I've I've read that Dieng and Dickie had generally poor games by their usually very high standards. Good! Let's hope that puts off clubs allegedly sniffing around... |

Dykes is a late-comer to football and a work in progress. He's easily at a decent Championship level and I expect him to get better through the season under Charlie's mentoring (maybe not the head-butting routine Chaz...). Dykes goal 'mishit'? I don't think so. A great strike, if rather fortunate that Lumley didn't do better with it. But there was bugger-all else on, so he demonstrated a striker's instinct - if in doubt, wellie it at the goal... Very happy to have Dykes in the team. [Post edited 20 Aug 2021 11:50]

Great 11 minutes, thanks for posting. Need to create a Boro account - just a quick email and password, no bother. Thought Warnock was going to pop at the end... |

Good stuff. Good also to hear that QPR were actively seeking a non-gambling sponsor, even if it meant lower sponsorship money coming in. |

I think you've got your blue and white hooped tinted glasses on Dave - love it! (But Chaz meant that head butt 100%) |

So Tom couldn't get a contract offer from chronically under-manned Derby (or wanted too much wonga), and is now training at a League side, which, if they offer him a contract, are sure to offer him less that Warbs did couple of months back. Wonder if he's regretting that now? |

The problem isn't Millwall fans, the problem is people. I have two friends who are Millwall fans. One is the gentlest soul you're ever likely to meet. The other volunteers in his community on all sorts of stuff and manages a charity shop for free. But some people are just f*ckwit racist Neanderthals. Every club has them. It's just the general perception that Millwall has more than their fair share. My personal experience of Millwall fans at games, home and away, would support that general perception. |

Great, if depressing, documentary, thanks for posting. Several people there who need a visit from their local football 'firms' for an informal chat... |

Well my take on the 90min.com 'review' was that it it was just lazy and completely ill-informed. "[QPR's] ninth-placed finish was probably a little generous given their mediocre campaign, and some of their summer business looks to be a little risky. The signings of 32-year-old Charlie Austin and Andre Dozzell - a youngster with very little experience in the Championship - could turn out to be masterstrokes but they could also easily backfire, leaving QPR in a spot of bother." Absolutely zero knowledge of QPR and, frankly, a pathetic summary. |
